Wonder how much of the 16.8% of other NZ beer is Lion Brown. All good Hurricane supporters drink this and Wellington babies have been weened on it since the 1940's.

Ideally, I'd like to get production up to a level where I'm always sitting on about a 6 month stockpile...by default that would mean I'm drinking mature beer...problem is I haven't got enough bottles.
Same problem here. Not enough bottles. The guy in home brew shop talks about drinking only stuff at least 4mths old. I'm trying to age good beers by doing the odd cheap kit. The problem is I have to drink cheap beer every now and again. It brings back memories, also bring back hangovers.

So does anyone here distill their own spirits? That is real loony juice.

at the risk of sounding like a precious twat, Ive really enjoyed some local(ish) microbrewery stuff lately: Wanaka beerworks, Green Man, Green Fern. Even some of the Emersons

apart from that, Macs Hop Rocker.

I'm drinking more wine than beer recently, now that its winter.

I'd rather sit back and sip a Jim Beam black. Pure gold. Too fuckin' easy to drink though. It doesn't give me the runs like Steinlager does; or a fat tum for that matter, which is just as well; without a mirror I can't see my knob as it is.

Over summer, if it made 2months, I was thinking "wow - an old brew!" With winter heading in, at least there's a chance of aging some brews......
The other half distills - and has also done 4 batches of Mead - now, depending on the honey used - that's good shit! It does take a while to make though, and we're trying to age at least one batch for a year or more.....
