They most certainly are NOT linked.
I shall apply some pressure to hubby now and get back to you....
True, sorry, forgot about you.... that's kinda sick though, you and Sully sitting together comparing notes.
Anywayyyyy, back to the marathon before PD swallows this thread.
Shall we say 11am at the Trax bar at the train station and we'll wait there for the boys to stagger in from the half marathon.
You guys know that the first Athenian to run a marathon under 3 hours at, ummm, Marathon, sucked a kumara, right?
Mind you, having a name like Phidippides.....
The only recorded comment made by the Spartans upon receiving word of the approaching Persian ships from the dying athlete can be loosely translated as: "That, was, Runna!".
Hard bunch, those Spartans.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
Oh boy this has arrived fast. Catch up at Trax afterwards sounds good. Hopefully my legs will carry me that far.
Have fun everyone.

I managed to haul my sorry arse around the 10k course in about 58mins. Happy with that given I've done nothing more than walk to/fm the fridge since my last 1/2 marathon about 20 years ago.
Hope all you visitors enjoyed the lovely Wellington weather
Now, time for a soak in the bath and a sleep.
Did someone say beer? Oh, okay... it would be rude not to
Yep, was not too bad once the rain stopped, we did the 10km walk in about 1:40 I think, so not bad for a couple of dawdlers, cracked on the pace for the last km to pass a few more people just to make ourselves feel like winners!!
Caught up with Kinje at the finish line, he'd put in a personal best for the half marathon (good going there mate!!) and then were met out front of Trax bar by Ms Number 1, Sully60 and Sully one and Kiwifruit who was looking like he could still go another round.
Couldn't get a beer anywhere in Wellington at 11:30am(well, the two bars we tried), so departed ways to go have hot showers and change (I was drenched under my coat and my crutch just was not drying so was rapidly getting chilly!)
Thanks Mr Kiwifruit for the prod to get off my lard arse and get out there and do it, must keep up the training, once my blisters have healed!
