Anyone using a Pedometer to measure distance, time, calories burned?
How accurate do you find them?

Hell yeah I am 1/2ing, will be somewhere between 1:18 and 1:25 depending on weather conditions, I finished in the top 20 last year and less than 1hr 21mins

Depends on what quality you buy and how well you set them up. People on this forum (http://www.nzrun.com/forum/main/show/fid/37-NZRun-Forum) could tell you for sure.
If you were just focused on distance and elevation why not to go with a gps watch? no setup and no inaccuracies caused by varying stride length

Congratulations mayhem.I hope you enjoyed yourself. I don't know much about the course you did. Is there any links to it.
53:56 in the 10k. I should have trained a bit harder, could have managed 45min or less.
Didn't notice the cold until after the race heh - I was thinking partway through "Hmm I wonder if I can get my undershirt off without stopping, damn I'm warm".
Well done guys! CC, http://www.harbourcapital.org.nz/
Wet and windy day in Wellington. First 30km went really well, just cruised at target pace (5:25 per km), nice and comfortable. Into the strong headwind on the way back thru Shelly bay took alot of effort. Didn't eat enough and hit the dreaded wall with 5km to go! Could barely keep moving, ended up walking a few minutes with 2km to go. Light headed, blue lipped, had trouble thinking straight. Dan handed me a snickers bar just as it began to take hold but it was too late. Never had that happen before. Just plain ran out of fuel, couldn't even lift my feet. Last km took about 10min! Good thing it was wet and slippery so i sort of skied / shuffled in to the finish. Was super happy to have a sit down. Came right pretty quick. Good lesson learnt (eat more!) and still happy with the result, 4:11. 20min slower than if all had gone to plan but there is no point being disappointed, it is what it is and it was awesome.
Had a great support crew. Dan was on course the whole way, on a small motorcycle, handing me drinks and bananas as requested. Good fun after too, few drinks, lots of lols.
Anyone doing it this year? Sunday 24th June.
