Does anyone have any Mohsin gear (jackets, etc)? I'm thinking in particular like the stuff advertised on Trademe...comments (good or bad) welcome.

It's back..."Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

I've checked out a few Moshin jackets and they are of good quality and I reckon it's a good buy if you can get a good price. I don't wear them so I can't comment on their effectiveness.
Just make sure you don't overbid and get trigger happy on that mouse.
In A word, you get what you pay for, a rule of life, pay budget get budget
I have some quality gear at clearance prices if interested, I wont sell gear of crapola quality as you can find on TM.

I brought a cordura mohsin jacket for my partner. She is very happy with it and have found it to be well made. Got a removable liner and all the armour.
Yes it is good stuff no doubt. Rode in 3 hrs of rain today and Im dry as a bone. Excellent!

Well I would have thought so, but I don't know what this stuff is being sold on Trademe, so I can't judge. You, however, seem to be happy to assume that if it's cheap it's crap.
Of course, clearance sales aside, I would have to assume you would tell me that if I import Dainese or something that's presumably more expensive than your gear, I'll be getting something similarly better.
Or does cheap only mean crap if it's less than your stuff, and it doesn't work going upwards?
I know you've had lots of good reports from people who've crashed in your gear, and it sounds like it's reasonable stuff - I'd probably check out some of it if I could try it on locally. The only thing I'm getting at is the automatic association of price with quality - when it suits you.
Richard
Yeah association between price and quality is a real factor, ie if I add say Nylon single stitching to my gear the price comes down, if I add kevlar triple it goes up. If I pay USD$5000 for a CE approval on my armor the price goes up to the end user, fact of life Im afraid.
If its cheap generally its for a reason eh.
If you import a Alpinestar suit yes great quality no problems there, but you do pay a margin for the name also.
I might have sounded arrogant earlier sorry but it worries me that some people bring in crap and sell it as top quality, this trader advertises Retail on his gear and prices like $549 for a leather Jacket, problem is it isnt sold as retail anywhere in NZ so how is this figured out, it also implies its top spec and it isnt ( I assure you )
Most of the sellers on TM buy from traders, not the factory, they have little or no ability to specify anything, trust me I know, I spent a week over there last month and was horrified as to some of the practices, for example, not closing of the stitiching, lying and falsifying CE certificates, using copy fabrics like cordura and saying its genuine etc etc etc, low grade Buffalo leather but saying its Cowhide top grade etc etc etc
mate buy what you want, but Im saying be careful, it matters alot when you fall of.

Carpe diem.let buyer beware is good motto,we sell imported items at work and although maybe cheaper it can be false economy,i.e starts out good then starts to fall apart, maybe after a couple of years, whereas nz may last longer.
I was in clothing industry when we had one as a clothing cutter, mostly mens and womens shirts, jackets, sweatshirts. At that time the imports we used as samples or design from were crap,no overlocking on seams, minimal seams, sizes all around the place. At least the nz sizing was to a recognised international standard, something which is still happening with imports.
I've bought a zip together leather suit from trademe,as it said size xl,thought it'll fit, pants did jacket way to small, asked the question re how big waist was told approx 90cm,went into cashconverters and got $3.50 more for it.
Went and tried a second from quasi's range and impressed, sizes were smaller than nz but quality was ok,if it lasts even 5yrs it's cheaper than thinner quality stuff, should well and truly last longer if looked after. As for percieved peoples attitude with seconds being inferior these have minor issues,i.e inside faults and doesn't interfere with making or crap leather,if you want a cheap jacket and style suits,I reccomend if you can try them on first do it,hell I went up from the Naki albeit on holiday,as stated clearance/reduced sale goods have to be better than similar products at a cheaper price, old stock alpinestar gear at reduced price is better than similar priced no name gear. Or another way how many of you buy the run out model bike at bargain price, quality same just dealer wants to get new model in to sell.

Too true Brett,as above post of mine,we used to hear via grapevine that x company was getting clothes made in Fiji and bring them back slapping made in nz labels on them, heaps of manufacturers were trying it as back in the 80's,Muldoons govt gave export insentives, hence send the goods overseas to be made, unfortunately same companies would get caught, when importing back into nz and having nz labels on them.We used to make under licence the original golden breed sweats and shirts, the quality control was tough,re sizing, make and cloth used, you couldn't supply thinner quality material for t-shirts.If it said 200grm you used that not 150grm weight, you couldn't see difference between the two until it had been washed a few times, then the quality was shown, one would have faded, shrunk and lost shape, other would be good for another season.Cost maybe at time $20 for nz made or $12.50 for cheaper import. As a perk staff were given seconds cheap($5.00),some of mine lasted for 2-3 years.

Hi guy's, Darren from Mohsin Bike Wear here. Thanks for your support as we enter the Australasian market. I see that we are ruffling the feathers of a few minor competitors... I'm sure there will be more inaccurate comments coming from them in the future. We prefer to let our customers be the judge of our products and services. With regard to the quality price relationship, our position is very simple... we will bring you high quality products at extremely competitive prices. Thanks again for your support!
