    Probally not to much wrong with as a chassis. Personally it looks a bit flimsy and would probally need some bracing if you were starting to push it. But it would be an improvement on what you have. For a backbone frame from the 80's it is probally on the pricy side

    while probably better than typical bucket drum brakes, the hose might be short and the disc might be too small

    It might, but personally I wouldnt trust it.

    IF it is the bike I think it is, the owner has taken zero care of the vehicle the entire time he's owned it, despite our (uni bike club) best efforts to help out. ie expect a more neglected bike than usual
