Never owned it, probably more down to timing as Steve and Ellen still didn't want to sell at that point.

But it was the first bucket I ever rode, and the first road bike I ever fell off (anti clockwise lost the front in the infield). Had never crash started a bike before that off, but as the banana had stalled I had little choice but to learn, I nailed it an did another 20 laps or so before the end of the session.

    I was hooked.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

Rocking Horse poo... aka FXR150 Workshop Manual

Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

    Starter Bucket

The "Banana" is still for sale - cheap and reliable entry to the sport.

In case you are wondering about it's handling given it's nickname "the banana", that came about when the second owner (Pongo) a decade or more ago, who worked at a well known hire company, painted the whole thing bright yellow. Having been around the Auckland scene for so long, this bike is pretty well sorted and capable of being punted well up the B grade field, much to the frustration of the odd FXR punters.

That's gotta be a typo? 19" ? Have they just cut the rim off and welded another wider one in place?

yeah should be 17 of course. He did a few (Chris original owner) at his work, but was std fare for RGs, cut a TZR wheel rim out & bam the rim on the RG wheel.

thus fit straight in, same brakes, spacers, lightweight cushdrive. Just need a skilled welder as they can easily go oval if you don't know what you are doing.

Further silliness: Completely rebuilt frame to fit 19" back wheel. Of course the frame wasn't touched for that reason, plenty of others for losing weight though.

    Also - fuel pump? Naaah.
