I'm surprised no-one has come up with the obvious answer. Make the decision whether you want to ride or have piercings. Simple.

How's that religion working out for you?
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Yeah I do that anyway. I am still at the "tender" stage i.e. can't even touch them, I am getting these purely for the healing stage. I am sure I will not have snagging/catching issues in the foreseeable future due to placement of the piercings.

One I used to wear was an Eagle on a swastika ... but I don't know what happened to it ('twas back in the 70s) .. Now I occassionally wear a pounamu earing ...

I have a bolt through my neck, stops my helmet falling down over my shoulders.

I've lost many an earring over the years and done some damage wearing studs when taking my helmet off...now wear sleepers most of the time, just a couple in each lobe. No yanking. no pain

I find tucking my lobe up helps. at least for riding comfort, still a bit weird when removing the helmet (I actually find the tunnel more uncomfortable than the piercings.
Though, removing them isn't that difficult...

Don't think my lobe is big enough to protect these suckers...

But my ear protectors work a treat. Look and feel like a farking idiot for a few seconds prior to putting my helmet on, but I don't give a shit.

ahh my lobes are pretty tiny too, only just push it up a little so the tunnel (only 8mm) doesn't dig into the side of my neck all the time lol. also with flipping it up the earrings dont stab. though sleepers or similar work just the same, as you know :P

ehh, im just too lazy to remove them all together HAHAHA
