    LED tailight setup

a question in another thread got me thinking theres a shitloada lectronics experts on here.
Ive thought about the idea of a big -( tailight made up of red LED's
The idea being that they can be either just a common ol brakelight or could flash a message of choice when ya hit the brakes.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

Great idea for a show bike, but unless it is e-marked, DOT market or low volume certified you will no longer get a WOF in NZ.
Maybe set up one under the 'legal' tail light. Afterall then it will be just an electronic sticker.

I am sure there is a department set up in Wellington designed just to take the fun out of life.

would be nice to have one that said:
"thanks" on one setting, and "bite me" on the other perhaps.
    yeah.

They're out there, can get ones that say you're about to slow down, doubt they're legal in nz.

there is (was?) a "brake light radar" for cars, that sense if you lift your foot suddenly from the throttle pedal. The assumption is that you are going to hit the brakes next, so it activates the brake lights in advance. If you don't actually put your foot on the brake, then the brake lights go off after a second or two - no harm done.

In theory, it's a good idea. In practice, there is little against it. In law, there has been nothing said about it.

"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."

You could buy ones years ago that you mounted in your rear window that said STOP

I like the American bit that fits in line with the taillight wiring. The harder (longer?) you brake the faster the tail light flashes thus bringing more attention to you to the hottie putting on her lipstick as she drives along behind you.
