    Vegan

Well. 40hr famine is approaching, and for this year's famine I wanted to do something different. Something very difficult (as if giving up food for 40hrs isn't hard enough)...
I chose to go vegan for a week. So from midnight last night, to midnight next Sunday (18th), I shall have no meat, nor dairy, nor anything containing any animal products. For those who know me, I would rather my plate had 5 portions of meat and one of vegetables than the other way 'round. This is going to be difficult.

I'll post up a daily diary of my diet each night, with updates on any changes I am feeling (mood, health, hunger etc).

So far a few friends have sponsored me and I'm up around the $60 mark. I'm quite happy with that so far. Wish me luck.

Good luck, you won't have any trouble and will probably feel better for it

I reckon I'm gunna feel way healthier by the end of the week. And once I get into the habit of checking ingredients in things, it won't be too hard. The temptation is there, but I can hold back.

I'd rather practice celibacy for a week...

    Obviously you're not married.

    You get used to it.

But being a Vegan !!!!! Are you going to start wearing scruffy sweaters and harping on about global warming, killing seals, and how you are so much a better person than I because you shit lentils?

Just wondering - because the two normally go hand in hand.

Best of luck for the challenge - and look forward to that blood dripping steak at the end of it.

    Bwhahahaha so very true.
Personally I think you should always distrust someone whos not prepared to go out, kill an animal, gut it, chop it up, and eat it.

    Mmmm meat.

yay! I'm not vegan, I'm and ovo lacto vege, but I'm giving you major bling for being such a good sport to the cause and trying out a different kind of life for a whole week!

I was thinking about the 40 hour famine actually, i can never remember when it is.. but i want to try going on an only raw food diet this time... I think it would be really hard for me too as I like my cooked stuff and you can't really eat raw lentils!! lol...

it's cause they don't eat cheese.

cheese is the #1 predictor of fatness.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
