No 1098 for this lad, if it's a twin it'll be wearing KTM......

As for prices all the big players special off unsold stock before the next years model is released, thats life......
Do it. You owe it to yourself. You might even stay on this one.

I'm over KTM now. The current importer seems to have the same attitude to its buyers as Suzuki and is unconcerned that cutting prices massively means 2 things:

They don't give a rats arse about our resale values

They charged far too much the first time around.

Buy your RC8 new in NZ and you can expect to lose about half its value by 15-18,000km. You're way better off buying a Ducati.
Gezze I hate you Mike, your so right damn it !!! My Super Duke with 47000k's on the clock would be worth diddly squat as a trade right now, better to hang on to her & buy a second hand RC8 that some poor sucker trades it on the S or R in a couple of years. Saying that if I had lots of diposable income I'd have the new one in the shed in a flash !!

I don't get this resale thing. If you're that worried don't buy a new bike.

I buy 'em, ride 'em, dump them in a land fill and move on. The joy I get from riding is priceless and more than makes up for the devaluation.

Hey guys, I haven't posted for ages for one reason and another that I won't bore you with, but just got in touch with Deviant Esq to show him a few photos of the wheels I picked up a couple of weeks ago.

    Gallery here if you're interested:

In a nutshell... THE most fun I've had on a bike... EVER. Absolutely bloody awesome now that the gearbox has nearly a 1000 miles on it (bit clunky up until about 500 but improving all the time - maybe it's down to the teeth dropping off, lol). Coming from a 750k6 I'd expected to lose some of the handling I'd enjoyed but nope... rides like its on rails... and turns in so easily.

Just got to finish paying for it now

Haha, don't duck on my account mate... it's one of those bikes... people either love or hate it, and I don't think that will be restricted to the looks either. The performance is very different to all the other sportsbikes I've owned or ridden, and it took 2 long test rides before I talked myself in to making the change from a silky smooth GSXR750 to a very raw feeling RC8.

Regrets? Not a single one. I bought it to please me, nobody else

And that's the only reason that counts. Well done Man.

I think the tail end is one of the best looking around.
Sat on one. Damn comfy and would make a good road, tourer and track bike all in one package! What's it like in the dirt?
