For those that have been wondering whats the point, there are options in KB that only affect those in your contacts list.

• Albums can be setup to only be viewed by them
• Restrict Private Messages to be only received by them
• Only receive Profile Visitor Messages from them
• Open Contacts Popup in Quick Links allows you to send a PM to any number of them at once
