    Raglan run

That fickle finger has struck again, hopeless this time of year. The planned Raglan run for both Sat and Sunday has been cancelled... johnD

Whats wrong with you Bergermen, the weather shouldn't stop you!

Hey, that Gilera GP800 V-twin has caught my attention, have any of you guys had a look at it? No chance from down here! John.

Anyone tried out the older Burg's? I am looking at the idea of getting one, but am on a tight budget - I might have to start out on a 1998 400cc Skywave with low kms. I think it would be a fun alternative to the cage, especially in nice weather.

Or perhaps a Honda Silver Wing, TradeMe carries a few of these at reasonable prices. (But I'm bias towards Honda though...)

I have a work collegue that is going to sell his Skywave 250 shortly. Not to sure of price, but is in good condition. If you are keen I can get the details/specs for you. Just let us know.

    Cheers

So far every 250 I have seen on Trade Me or from Suzuki dealers is as dear as the 400cc scooters - there is probably a lot of demand from riders that don't have their full license. I really want to do some touring around the country and think a 400 is more what would suit my needs. I am sure the 250 would run happily at 110kph - but the 400 would do that speed with less effort.

But if anyone knows of a 400 Burgman/Skywave going cheap then let me know.

By a few do you mean none at all? I have been looking at all scooters over 250cc on Trade Me and have seen no Silver Wings at all over the last few weeks.

Might be worth stretching to a new one. Even the old dogs on Trademe are only a couple of grand cheaper.

You might be right - I might have to save my pennies for a new burg 400 - I was watching a ten year old one on Trade Me but with a week left to run it went from 3k to 4.5k. If it is going to cost more than $5K for a ten year old scooter than I would prefer to spend $10K and get the latest model with full warranty and no kms on the clock. They also did improvements on the '07 model including a new motor and improved storage.

So I guess that unless I can find a good 2nd hand Burg 400 at a good price I am now saving up for a new one.

Maybe I'll win the GSR 750 from the doco channel and then I could sell that and buy a burg. I wouldn't mind keeping the 750, but it would cost me too much in speeding tickets.
