All the best for a speedy recovery.
Only motorcyclists understand why a dog hangs his head out of a car window
Good on ya Ron!

Have to Karma ... Justice catches up eventually !!
But any politician would have done that.....even if you were made of stone.

It's better to have ridden and crashed, than never to have ridden at all....R.I.P. Bruce Bennett (old fart-KB.) 1955-2005 posted by Bronwyn Bennett.
Just read that in the Dom Post.
Good on Ron and his Mrs + the other lady.
"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
Thank goodness it was a politician with a brain.
A soldier's training coming into good use.
Let's hope for a speedy recovery!

I hope the damage to his bike will buff out! Good to hear hes on the mend and with his attitude, I'm sure he will be raring fit to be on two wheels again?
I guess he doesn't want to eat the hospital food and wear those short gowns!
Thanks for sharing!
"I like to ride anyplace, anywhere, any time, any way!"
Man all i wanted to do was thank those that saved my life and a whole media circus starts turning. Even had to say no to One News for a video interview in the hospital with Ron Mark, enough is enough.
If the talk was about poor driving standards, that would be different.
Hospital food, hmmmm, volume ok, nutrition ok, taste poor, variation ok.

Not too much longer and you'll be home ... and the sleep if nothing else will improve i am sure
Good on you Ron Mark. About time you put that raised middle finger to some better use.
Good to hear you're on the mend Herman.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

A New Zealand MP has saved a biker’s life – but says he is not a hero.
Herman van Krieken was struck by a trailer going through The Terrace Tunnel. Ron Mark and his partner Chris Tracey stopped to help – and Mr Mark prevented Mr van Krieken from bleeding to death by using his fist to plug (van Krieken’s) main artery.
Mr Mark said "I just heard the bang and I saw him flying through the air. I had my fist there the whole time, he wasn't gushing blood all over the place, but there was bleeding and it was clearly a double compound fracture of the lower leg.”
Mr van Krieken wrote to Prime Minister Helen Clark saying that when he came to, he was "absolutely staggered" to see Mr Mark "on his knees on the road with his tie on and having his finger up my main artery".
Mr Mark said he was no hero. He had family members in the fire service, police and St John Ambulance who helped save lives every day. "I don't really think I did a lot."
I think everyone should congratulate Mr Mark on being a true hero – without his speedy action, someone could have died. Well done that man.

Not entirely sure about the trailer. A witness mentioned to me that it came off a car going in the same direction as me and the driver started to slow down to control it, not much you can when that happens. Leaves the question on the safety chain ? ? ? Where were the instructions and training?????
