Aw, shucks. Thanks for the kind wishes everybody.

Today I have washed two bikes -- one (the FJR) hopefully to a standard sufficient to meet the approval of the US Departments of Agriculture and Homeland Security because, this time next week, the Big Yam will be in a crate and on its way to Los Angeles to be waiting for us when we arrive in mid July.

I have compiled a multitude of to do lists (I even have a list of lists) and, like Santa Claus, I'm ticking off the multitude of tasks needed to appease the bureaucracy and to ensure that we have no more than we need when we arrive States-side.

Shortly I am off to see what the Doyen of the cake-maker's art (my mum) has whipped up. With any luck it will be sufficiently large (and iced with asbestos) to accommodate 51 candles. I shall report back later as to whether or not I was able to get them all out with the one huff. Oh the joys of getting older!

I hope that everybody else has had a productive and exciting day.

Chocolate mud cake with chocolate icing and sprinkled with mini M&Ms, no less.

    And one huff was enough.

    Have a goody, Mr Hitcher.
You must be nearly ready to retire to a Guzzi now....
