Im doing some research and would like some feedback.
Do you think the sidecars at Wanganui are boring?
And would you still attend as a spectator if they were not there.
Edit - cool, a poll. tick a couple of boxes.
Yes they are boring
No they arent boring
Yes I would still spectate if they were not there
No I would not spectate if they were not there

No I love watching them go sideways all over the place.
I would go either way.
Never too old to Rock n Roll.

I've got miserly tourettes and I don't give a fuck.
l do find them a bit of a bore. but years ago when the ozzys came over it was realy realy good racing very close and a heaps of them
love watching the sidecars, especially the classics . Don't go as often as I would like and would be less attracted without the sidecars but guess I would still go.
The queues to " have a go" at Taupo would suggest they are highly regarded.![]()
They are like any class if they have reasonable numbers and close racing then they aren't boring, numbers they've had the last couple of years they've been a waste of time
They're a drawcard for me if they're running and If I was thinking of making the trip up I'd probably not bother if they weren't
Id like to see as many people as possible vote on this purely for research purposes.
I wont get involved in discussion, lest my opinion appear to be biased.
When sidecars are on the track, its a good time to take a leak and buy a hotdog, doesn't have to be in that order though.
Could even spring for a bag of lollies...the track generally needs a clean up/sweep after they have been on anyway.
It's a shame that they wont be there for the 60th as sidecars have been part of the Cemetery Circuit for so long and to celebrate the 60th should involve those who have dedicated themselves to this event for many years. Why penalise the sidecars and not any other class. And when it comes to blaming them for dumping oil on the track so do 2 wheels. It's never done deliberately.
Just my 2c worth.
Well the research so far suggests 4 people are obviously abit queer.
It's a numbers thing and the last couple of years the sidecars haven't put the numbers on the grid that they've said they would and the fields have been small
As far as dumping oil, in 12 years of racing them I've seen them do it about 4-5 timesin that period but I've also been at a few meetings where sidecars have been blamed for dropping oil when it was a Solo that did it, if a solo does it then it gets ignored if a sidecar does it we're never allowed to forget it
Biggest oil spill and subsequent delay in that period would be a tie between the Pirate at Hampton downs a couple of years back and a F3 bike back about 2001 at Ruapuna
Well if you didn't ride like a pussy he wouldn't have so much time to look around
My personal opinion is that the sidecars are the main reason I attend
they offer a different dynamic and level of excitement
It would be a real shame (IMHO) if they were to go
Love the classics

With all due respect Kick, I believe your team twice promised to attend, but decided not to show at the last minute.
Its that kind of thing that makes it hard for all of us, not least of all the poor organisers who are trying to put on a class event & not look like fools themselves.
Bring a couple of chairs up this year, you have the power to help make this years event even better!!
We are all coming south for the nationals this year.
