    My baby is gone!

Some greedy son of a bitch fuckwit bastard has stolen my Bandit right from outside my apartment block last week, i filed a police report and after 3 days of "investigating" i got a letter saying they have closed the case and will no longer be looking for my bike.

But what pisses me off the most is that there are 2 security cameras looking right at where my bike was parked, one from the petrol station across the road and the other from my apartment's CCTV and they didn't even bother to look at them, it feels like a slap in the face after all that tax i pay that they cant be fucked doing their job.

Anyway i need to get a new bike now after all the insurance crap is sorted so i took a walk down to Holeshot motorcycles in Takapuna, they had a nice ZXR 250 Ninja in green with some modifications done to it, the sales assistant said its pulling over 50 hp with the new exhaust on it which i can almost believe after i took it for a test ride, its selling for about $7,000 and its done 12,000 ks is that a good deal?

    A ZXR250 putting out over 50HP? I don't think so. And they say it's done 12000k and want 7k?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Sorry its 10,409 ks apparently, and they say a new exhaust adds another 10% HP and since its 45 stock under that theory it should be almost 50 hp.

Heres a link to the bike, I hope if it is a good deal no one grabs it before me.

No way does it have 50hp. More like 35hp dude.
You would be lucky to have 35hp. But thats ok.
7K is a bit steep. When you compare it to Choppa's 06 ZX6r with mods for
    8K.

Looks like a nice bike, but it wont have that much hp. Trust me mate. Ive owned 2 of them. 250 inlines simply dont have that much.

I'd be wondering why a 15yo bike has only done 10+k.
Don't get me wrong...ZXR250s are nice, and very quick, but there's something that's not right with what HS are claiming here.
    http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/mod...xr250%2093.htm This one says 40/15.5
    http://www.motorbikes.be/en/Kawasaki_ZXR_250_1993.aspx This says 45/16
The truth is maybe 40, but there wasn't anything quicker in the 4 stroke 250 range, so does it really matter? And your Bandit would have been a slug compared anyway.

Nah its defiantly got more than 35hp, my bandit had 37hp and this thing had a hell of allot more guts.

Ive done some research and this model is factory 45 hp any other model post this including the 06 will have to be under 40hp

Believe what you wish man. But dont buy it on that info. It looks tidy, so if it runs good why not. But I wouldnt pay 7k for a 250.

So my Bandit probably didn't have 37 hp?

    See my last post.
    Sparky said a ZX6R...
If I recall right, in the early 90's, the powers-that-be decreed that 250s would be limited to under 37hp ???

That is correct and if you get a 92 model CBR or ZXR thats registered in 93 it will be one of the last production 250s over 40hp coming out of jap

Assuming you advised them of the cameras, ring them up and ask them to explain WHY they have not followed the lines of enquiry open to them to investigate.
