CBR 250rr ('92 model) FOR SALE

I have just moved to Wellington, and want to find a good home for my baby blade. She is in timaru and can be viewed on the shop floor at Timaru Honda (John is the manager). I am willing to have the bike shipped up, details for freight would be negotiable.
I bought her at Trevor Pierce in Chch and all the work on her has been done there or at Timaru Honda, i have reciepts for all the work, including the full engine rebuild carried out by TP. She has just had a new chain, front and rear sprockets fitted. Anyone interested in inspection is welcome to, but No test pilots welcome. Will be sold with rego and no money needs spent on her.
I have never dropped her and she is in better condition than when i bought her , so who ever had her beore me must have been down, but shes straight as a die so no frame damage : the price is negotiable (no need to pay up to $8k at red baron or the like...) carbon fibre muffler (not branded)
minor cosmetic damage on rh/lh sides which has been professionaly repaired whilst in my care.
Custom made aluminium heel plates

New Back trye & stil plenty of life in the front.
Price: $5500 Negotiable

I will be putting the bike up on Trademe in the near future.

Why? Thats the price for most CBR's and ZXR's in good condition these days. Older models wither higher Kms go for the same in bike shops.

maby thats right but only because its a 250 for 5 and a half large i would expect a newer 750

So you are welcome to buy your nice new 750 for $5.5g, but these are the best overall learner bikes out there, hence the price. I know of at least one that was sold for over $7g. Best of luck.

if the 250cc limit was dropped to 150 or gotten rid of completly the price of 250s would half when the 250 limit was brought in the 250s of the day bore no resemblance to the 250 that are about today. back last century you could ride any size bike you wanted i started with a ts 185 suzuki trail bike but i new people with GT 380 suzys and one bloke had a 750 waterbus

so how can a 92 250 be worth almost the same as this

The unfortunate thing called supply and demand.

Hell if I had that much money at the moment, I know I'll be giving him a ring to have a look at the bike... Need a faster bike, and more fairing around me to keep the nature away...

Damn it I just realised I might have the money except that I realised that it's in Timaru!!! It sounded a lot better when I thought it was in wellington.

I wish I was in auckland these days, I'll be able to choose between so many more bikes... Good luck with the sale, and if you ever feel like bringing it up to wellington and selling it there, give me a yell, I'll definately come around and have a look if I haven't found a new bike by then.
