Didn't some long obscure band of the early 70s have a hit called "Otaki"? Quincy Conserve or the High-Revving Tongues or Fourmyula or summat? Could some other really old person but with a better memory than mine please assist?

any fish in them there lakes?

There is good fishing all around here. The Manawatu area has some great fresh water fishing, and good rivers.

The sea fising is excellent too. Launch your boat off the beach at Waikanae and go to Kapiti Island diving, crays etc. - just don't stray into the reserve. Or go North if you don't lke beach launching and cross the Foxton (Manawatu) Bar.
