    Dont be silly,
the reason they are stuck is because the drain is too small for them to fit up.
You gotta go find the creek that the drain discharges into, and crawl up the pipe on your belly till you find the buggers and drag them out by the tail.

What's the lie of the land? - below other properties?.....drains into something else? Tree roots block drains, they will travel a long way to get to them too.Get a camera probe down it,and make the landlord pay for it.Other properties above you send their run off into your system overloading it.Keep moaning.

you need to go down to the ports. and instead of whoring yourself out to blue balled sailor types, find some dodgy fisherman and see if you can score a couple of tuna crackers off him. light the fuse and shove it in your dirty hose pipe, make sure you block the end with your finger. BOOM! unblocked drain, and eel mince.

Nice to see loads of good advice!
However I have a question. Does the drain, in fact go to the nearest waterway? Or is connected to the sewage system? Because you have said there is 2 houses feeding grey water in there.
That aint right if that is the case. Grey water should NOT be discharging into a creek. Or, groundwater runoff shouldn't be going into a sewer. Either way, if you have grey water going into that same system, your landlady could be made to fix it. Unless there is some historical right to discharge that I am unaware of.
Speaking of discharge, I have to go!
