There was a recent case in 'merica, where a tatooist was putting all sorts of words on people, who thought that they were getting something else...

A mate of mine has some japanese tattooed on his arm - he knew the guy who did it and trusted him (seeing as he speaks no Japanese nor can read it, obviously) but has asked a number of Japanese since to check it's correct and it has been.

He literally got the Japanese symbols for "tattoo" tattooed upon himself.
