    This weekend....race or not?

Ok so my bike may be finished tomorrow assuming some shims arrive but will need to be run in for a short period to avoid undoing all the work Mr.Cole, who's built the bike has put in. Thats the first point.......

Today i got offered a very good job, pending a suitable contract, that will see me return to a 'proper' job for the first time in quite a few years after messing around with other things for the past 4 years or so. They want me to start on Monday and then fly to Christchurch Tuesday where in starts 3 months of very intense work all over NZ and maybe internationally.

Normally bikes always win....hands down....when compared to other parts of life (except family) but a nagging doubt is in my mind about competing this weekend.

What would you do.........there will be other race days.......there may not be other such career chances.

At the moment the little devil thats the racer in me says race, the thinking sensible person on the other side (jeeezzz i do seem to have one) says can the weekend.

    So........ opinions?
The older i get the faster i used to be.......

    A no-brainer here.

    JOB

Get that sorted first as it will pay for your racing later

    Tough choice mate. Very tough.

For the record, me and Riff raff (mostly Riff raff) are so bloody close to our first child together arriving, there's a very real chance I wont be there myself. I think babies are a bit different from jobs though, no way I'd miss a race meeting for the sake of the chance (and let's face it, it's a pretty small chance) of not being at work Monday.

If I don't have a baby to hold, I'll be there.

Don't envy your decision though. Good luck, whatever you choose'll be right for you. That's the main thing. And ya aint gonna get the answer you need online dude.
