FTR and Just quietly While it isn't the end of the world...it did strike me as a little OTT to be infracted.

To be honest I just thought wanker!! and then I got over it cos it's just an internet forum afterall.

What is this "power" and "last say" you speak of?

Careful D... that could be construed as "being abusive to a Mod"...

It might have escaped your notice that you can actually post to threads and continue debates in PD

What about a moderator who edits and deletes posts because they don't like them? isn't that what you used to do before you were given the arse as a mod on NZSBF?, sounds like someone thriving on power and wanting the last say to me

I think what they're trying to say D is it's the other way round. Someone gets asked to be a mod, they accept and the next thing you know all their mates have a go at them making them go all defensive and that.

Next thing ya know everyone has changed and mates you had before are now really annoying little bastards so you don't wanna join them at rallies coz they'll be unkind.

I think that's what they're trying to say anyway.

What would I know? I'm just Scotch....

Why all this whining about the mods? They help the forum live.

For me, they're a bit like a referee: sometimes they make a mistake, but without them, there would be no game. And I have yet to see a player or trainer who doesn't do any mistake, especially those who bitch about the referee. A bit the same here, really.

yeah but I dont do PD

and BINGO you got it in one.

Scumdog... dont do it man dont do it to me

The thread wasnt about wasting mods but how they "can" jump to conclusions and make needless actions against a perfectly good posts with out talking it over with the person 1st.

I appreciate a warning 1st and a chance to explain my self before being bemt over and smaked with the wooden spoon.
in this case it was two people deeply involved with the BOB meet in chch the mod told me (cant quote cos its in a p/m and that would be bad) that they wernt racing in the event so they basicly didnt need to post... well one is racing and the other has organised their partner to race aswell...

nuff from me or the warnings will start pilling in
    cheers DD

so from that comment i guess that anyone who doesn't have a direct involvement in the thread subject is not allowed to post in the thread?
How ridiculas... especially if the whole idea is to get people involved. Sorry but in this case it really is a bit OTT. Why did the MOD feel he had to infract one member and warn another over something they both were quite involved in?
Gee BOB is gonna be a bunch of laughs with people already a bit pissed off with a local mod/racer.

The BOB WILL BE AWESOME! The Welly crowd are fab people and you CHCH guys sound like top people too. I just know you will look after my Sully really well and I know he is gonna have a great time and will come back full of good yarns after meeting and hanging out with you all.

Admittedly the situation that caused this thread WAS related to the racing itself and while I won't be racing down there I am in charge of ensuring Sully does through the wise co-ordination of the wonderfully generous sponsorship donations from our friends. The situation in question was me giving all the other racers a hard time telling them to keep their hands off my 'other better half' while she down there, which sparked the invevitable threesome dream in her hubby....so yes actually it did all come about as part of the discussions around the racing but to someone on the outside looking in, it might've looked terribly off topic.

Again I don't think it's a huge issue and as I did say earlier I thought it was overkill on the mods part to 'infract' but again as someone else has said about referees 'they don't always get everything right'.

I also agree with Rashika and Dangerous and others - this thread was as much about the racing as it was about all the groups getting to know each other a little before they all get together...part of the magic of KB if you ask me - the fact that you can build up some familiarity and rapport with people before you have to stand face to face...certainly helps those first couple of minutes be less awkward...but hey what would I know?! If the thread is only for the racers to talk racing then there must be a need for another thread so we can all talk shit about the weekend that all the racers will be racing...actually no fark that! I am involved but can't make it down...I really value that people have been as sweet and inclusive of me as they have of Sully and it is the way that I feel like I am connected to the event even though I will be house sitting for one set of racers and wondering about my own man....

Right Rant over time for a shower...must go to work today.....ewwww

How come their online personas change? I have knowen several people that were just the average Jo KB members.. then became a mod... they changed and not for the beter.

The latest good guy I know that became a mod has IMHO taken it to far, ok maybe I dont know the full story... but either way I find it a shame that people do change when given some kinda power... do you guys agree, or find the same thing or am I being yet again a over sencitive blood nut thats knows shit?
It may not be them, it may just be that you anaylise them more...if that makes sense.....
