Post pics? I was a little gutted after my slide, not one bruise![]()

I wouldn’t be broke if the voices in my head paid rent
Gotta tell the truth here, but I do not feel that an average pair of m/c boots would have more protection than a pair of steelcaps.I work in an industry where steelcaps are mandatory. For me,to step into a pair of SIDI's after years of steelcaps was like wearing socks.
Keep the guns oiled and the temple clean
Shit,snort and blaspheme
I sort of know what you mean, i am wearing a pair of steel caps a bit (need to on the orchard) so i really like the feel of them. Hell if i have to do any decent running i would damn near chose the steel caps because of the protection they give my ankle if i step in a hole etc. But then again i also like wearing my motorbike boots for the same reason but i would not wear them around much.
The trouble with steel caps is that they cut your toes off if anything heavy enough lands on them. My father worked in a laminated timber factory and they used fibreglass toes caps instead. If a packet of wood fell on them (think approx. 2m by 2m by 4m or more of wood) they would absorb the initial impact and shatter leaving your toes damaged but still attached to your feet. Steel caps would bend at the back and leave you without toes.

Well myth busters could not put enough force onto a steal cap to even come close to bending it. On the other hand if they were to drop a sharpened steel beem at them the cap could guide the beem toward the ankle meaning that you lost a few mill more of toe than you otherwise would have.
steel caps wouldnt have done shit, where i did the damage to my legs was up my shins and random bruising is just under my knee on my left leg.....
will take a pic when im not so tired so you can see what i mean.
