Driftn round 1

So it that time for me to write a big long speil witho puctuation and terreble spelling. So leave work at 11 on saturday and pick up Sean (is that how you spell it personal joke sorry) any way the mighty hilux was on the road and making pretty good time if i do say so my self. Caught up with drew an flame had a race up a passing lane which the hilux won. Arrive in Taupo at our pad to find a lovley big natural hot pool and a few beers. Blah blah blah.

Sunday arrive at the track at sparrows fart. Eager beaver Deano sugested a 6am wake up so we were running a touch early but not to worry. Get set up in the garrage and try to change my entry to f1 but was told it couldnt happen so stuck in clubmans again. Get ready for qualifying having not ridden the bike since my crash i was feeling a bit nervous. Wobbled my way round and managed to gel 6th on the grid with a 1.48sumthing. I did not have fun so much so that i wasnt lookikng forward to race 1.

Right warm up lap done pull up to second row and keep my eyes on the lights. Got an ok start i guess in to turn one had a big both wheel slide in turn 3 but for some reason it didnt faze me and put my head down.
Running in third i could see that i was catching second but made my move a little to late and was left in third. A best lap of 1.44sumthing.

Feeling pretty happy with race 1 I had a new found love for my bike and really wanted to win. Got off to a good start first to turn one and led for the first 3/4 of the lap and got past by a dirty 999. Kept on his tail and noticed he was not getting away and that i was actually faster thru turns 4,5 and six. down the back straight Jlo was keeping up with the far superior machine(stoked). we get the white flag as i glance across i see drew hanging over the side waving his arms and possibly saying hurry the f**k up boy. catching the duke in to the hair pin on the exit i see we are catching up on laped traffic which he slowed down for and I didnt. Went round the long way only to see a very small gap getting smaller and I made jlo as skinny as i could nearly taking out the the riders front wheel(sorry for that was in a bit of a hurry) any who thinking to my self yahoo im in first go and upon comming in to the sweeper i went in a little hot and the duke came up the inside not to worry though he couldnt get away down the straight so I have one last try and break late and run wide in the right hander and stuck in seccond place.Best lap of 1:43.605 Great race great day.

My boy Zac was there to for the first time and was awesome to have him there looking up to me like I was some kind of super star.
Ed for the levers and tyre warmer life saver dude. Last but not least Dirty old Dodgy Matt for putting up a good bet and beating my best lap time by 100th of a second. Bring on round two where I will be running with the big dogs in f1. See you there guys

Good on ya mate, that second race wasa nail biter. Don't think I didn't see that feet off the pegs slide outta the hairpin on lap 3. You woulda won it if not for that.
