Is there any *good* vodka, or is that an oxymoron?

Cheap whisky's the way to go, dude. Two or three glasses of single malt to pretend you're cultured, then get drunk on Jameson's.

For that matter never buy or drink any liquor that is sold in plastic bottles......

As for the bruise on your head, that is what the initiated call a UDI.......Unidentified Drinking Injury. Wear it with pride. Make up cool stories about it, more importantly. Rescueing kittens from trees and puppies from rivers sounds way better than "Got drunk, fell out of bed, have carpet burn on forehead....".

    Mmmmm, vodka.....

I take it you've never cried after dropping a glass 40oz of quality vodka?

The only place I've ever dropped a 40oz of quality vodka has been my liver! I can't say I have ever dropped a bottle of spirits and I hope never to, for that matter!
I have dropped a glass of voddy over myself from time to time, generally after a strategic passing out.

All that said I have cried when I've found the other end of the bottle.

    My thoughts exactly.

My last Vodka purge was aged 16 and left me waking in hospital with THE worst hangover I've ever experienced. Obviously as a 16 I then went to a party the very next night.

Funny side note: after getting out of hosptial in the morning and not knowing how I got there. I went home and rung my gf of the time to see if she knew anything. At which point she dumped me.
    Worst hangover + dumped.

Yeah we’ve all had bad Vodka experiences. Raspberry Cordial into straight Smirnoff (we were 14 or something & too stupid ‘nah adding water to the cordial essence will dilute it”

Save up. Smirnoff etc are Nasty vodkas.

    Absolute.
Stolli (the vodka not the RTD by the same name which is mostly old wine mix) best vodka for the money if on a budget
Danska (sp?) They do a 50% version

    & my personal favourite Finlandia

Keep them in the freezer. The mark of a good Vodka is they are nice enough to drink straight (capful at a time).

Purer vodkas taste nicer & don’t make you as sick, though watch what you mix them with.

Mmmmmmm I remember some moments in my youf when I may have partaken of some excellent vodkas - was good having a friend who worked on the ferries - duty free + staff discount. Now cos I don't drink very often, it only takes 1 glass of something quite innocuous and I'm off my tree.

stolichnaya Thanks, couldn't spell it so didn't try. Plain-as label but great value, good Vodka.
