Talking Cheeky thieves. We got shafted!!

At work we have a old van that is used daily to transport kids. Today my staff came and told me that nothing happened when they put the car in to Drive.

I went to have a look. She started well and I was able to put her in to Drive, Neutral and Park. But nothing happened. So I was thinking: Must have come loose from AT, no worries I soon fix that.

I dropped down on my knees and looked under ready to fit whatever had come loose back on. Noticed an oil leak. And it was coming from a big hole at the end of the AT. I then looked to the back axle and noticed that nothing was connecting the AT to the diff...

Someone had last night unbolted the driveshaft and taken off with it!!!

No wonder the poor thing would not move.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Absolutely no idea. Don't think the driveshaft is much good for a hangi. Wish they had taken the whole van...lol

Happened to an Uncle of mine in Cambridge. Car was parked outside pub in the main street. In daylight. Just popped in for a couple of dippers after work. Came out -couldn't drive home.

years ago my old neighbour who was a butcher went out to go to work and couldntget his escort van started so he got a torch ,opened the bonnet and discovered that the engine had been stripped, radiator, battery etc was gone, it was parked about a meter away from his bedroom window and he never heard a thing

A guy we know came out to his bike after work, went to kick it over, didn't go, felt funny.
Hmm.........hopped off, looked at the engine.
    They'd stolen the cylinder head.

Now I've got all these vivid mental pictures in my head of theives running down the street with odd car parts.
So does your insurance cover that under theft or damage???
I wouldn’t be broke if the voices in my head paid rent

Not even worth worrying about. The excess is more then a s/h driveshaft and fitting.

Contacted the police to get a case # and get a paperwork track on this. They said they wanted fingerprints and were to come over. Then 30 min later got a call asking if I could come down to the station and fill in the forms as they did not have the time or cars to visit. So I asked if they wanted me to bring the van so they could get the fingerprints... They got confused and I told them not to worry about it. Apperently this is classified as burglary.

Conspiracy? Sounds like someone out there is collecting parts from cars and bikes. Can just see the selection on display. "And this driveshaft was dismantled in heavy rain from an old van in HB at 3am. If you look closely you see the scratch marks when the swiss army knife that was used to dismantle this slipped and left an inprint of Jesus nose. We have offers of $66K from Jerusalem for this one. And here on this wall we have the cylinder from the devils bike. He was in the pub at the time this one was dismantled by using nothing else then holy water and prayers."

Whats the bet ya have trouble finding one !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Those are great odds, unless 50+ is referring to their age!
