different days, diff temps, humidity, tyre, correction factors, sae ratings etc etc......all make for diff readings.
My bike showed 164rwhp from GP earlier this month and I was keeping up with Rob from GP on Hayden Fitz's 07 1000rr with freshly dyno'ed 187rwhp down the straight at Taupo, same gearing too.

FWIW Dyno runs are quite unreliable. (can vary wildly from two different layouts, brand design, operator).
If it was my bike, and it was running well despite the possible drop in HP, I think I would ride it.
Competitors running wide, or choosing poor suspension/tyre choice will probably affect the results as much as a slight drop in outright HP.
(will scurry back to my cave now)

Yes but YOU are my main rival at the mo, and you have a shitload more HP than me and we are both just as crap everywhere else.

At the moment im being told all sorts of different things about my engine etc. So I would rather just pull it to bits and have a looksy to see exactly what is in there, and freshen up as required, at least then I will have a know'n quantity to work with for the rest of the year

Anyway, whatever the outcome of the tear down this weekend, I will try and make it to the next round, it really does just depend on funds

Brian before toys outa cottting. Id suggest 1) get the valve clearances checked/adjusted.2)Get the air/fuel filter changed 3)get the cam timing dialed back to normal.
As others have said mate HTFU and get out there riding. Make use of the 160 ponies you have and ride baby ride

Forget the dyno measurements, I'd be more interested in lap times.

I mean, Jesus, 180hp from a bike that tends to measure 155-ish stock? That's either just wank-value numbers from a dyno made by Dreamtime Fantasies Inc, or a seriously scary machine.

The power delivery would be bound to be freakier. I be plenty of guys would end up riding slower laps due to highside paranoia. You can't make up for that shit on Taupo's back straight.

I'm reminded of comments in one of last month's UK bike rags (I forget which) where they comp'd the current thous and one of the riders commented that he was lapping faster on the K7 with the engine in 'C' mode than in 'A' mode, because he could just relax with the throttle and focus on his lines without having to worry about rear-wheel traction every moment of every lap.

Disclaimer: I haven't the foggiest clue what I'm talking about.

At the risk of sounding like a very cheeky c00nt, the cheapest way to gain power is to lose some weight, not the easiest tho....

Archer's already made it clear that he's on a tight budget, and now you're asking him to shell out for carbon-fibre rearsets?

This thread sounds like something I'd bloody start.

Technic has said the dyno runs you are making acusations about are for different bikes than what you're on.

The compression test sounds like a fuck up more than the compression itself.

And if ya want it to read 180 horses at the tread, bring it to Wellington and dyno it at Motomart. Their one has produced some very high reading numbers for people round here since ages ago.
