1/ It's in second place - should be at the top.

2/ Matrix - wasn't it Trinity (not Neo) riding the black 996 in all the traffic?

3/ Black rain - dirt bike chase at the end.

4/ Mission impossible II - the Triumph with road tyres AND knobblies on at the same time

5/ Gumball rally - the poor frozen biker

    Well that's my top 5 what's yours?
In space, no one can smell your fart.

    Real vs CGI

    This list is crap.

Mad Max has got to have the best moments ever.

FFS some one died doing those stunts.

    Even "STONE" was cool.

    Baaad list.

No Mad Max, no Easy Rider... hell even Torque should be up there for the sheer over-the-top B-grade-fun factor.

Easy Rider wasn't so much a motorcycle movie as a timepiece, a social observation. To call it a 'motorcycle movie' is to have missed Dennis Hopper's genius and the point. Even he described it as a 'western'. The brilliance of that movie was overlooked (and still is) by so many it's sad. Get over the bikes and look deeper, way deeper.

For ten bucks you can get it on DVD at The Warehouse these days and the DVD version has a doco' on the making. Be enlightened by watching the doco, then re-screen the movie. You get a whole new take on things.

No; don't include Easy Rider in a motorcycle movie list, it's way above that and showed America for what it was and, in so many ways, still is.

Personally I liked the BMW bike chase in the movie Paycheck.

I wonder how the stuntman handled that heavy bike!
And did I mentioned it was done on gravels? (More like a bunch of fist-sized stones!)

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

After comments to DD in the Indy thread about movies being better on a big screen - I thought I would put out an idea.

I have a decent sized home theatre room at home.

I'd be happy to put on a evening with some of the classic bike movies "Easy Rider" etc.

Hell - we could even watch Full Throttle - just for farts and giggles.

Im based on the North Shore - how many would be interested if I got off my ass and arranged this?

You forgot the other "Impossible II" bit - Tom Cruise performing a stoppie AND shooting with his right hand, at the same time. :spudwhat:

One of my favourite "motorcycle movie moments" was going to see "On Any Sunday" when it first came out, and watching a cinema full of bikers all leaning from side to side when watching some on-board race footage.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
