Come on, tell us how much a CBR250 cost in 1992. If it was less than $5000 I guess you are right. I don't think so though. I suspect it cost more in the ball park of a modern 600.

Mate. You wouldnt realise this so I will let you in on a little secret.

When you are this good looking you stay away from mirrors otherwise you find yourself running out of time in the day to do other stuff.

So young, so much to learn. IF you have a car you have to take them home. Plus you cant do a top gun impression riding up to their house.
(music may only be in your head but others should still get the point)

    Several theorys.

The japs made rules to limit HP. The found there was no reason to build a IL4 anymore
    It probably costs the same to build a IL4 600 as a IL4 250.

You guys are crazy...in a goodway I live in the US where I just bought an imported CBR250R from Australia or Hastralia if I'm zohan. We wish we could get cool bikes like these as you guys get...R government is strict! I owned a 88' ninja 250 & there's no comparison. Although the ninja's R fun . Understand that the CBR250's were modeled after the RC160 Honda Race GP Bikes from 1960's. They were GP champions for years, even yamaha 2 strokes couldn't beat them. They were the very first to develop a 19k RPM bike, 4 cylinders, gear driven cams....& yes they cost more to make than a 600 of the same year. Aluminum frame, Gullarm swing arm and 6 spoke Alum wheels adopted from NSR 250. Imagine the 45WHP on a 1990 250RR is the same as 180whp on a new 2008 R1!! By the way, I heard the 08' 250 ninja has EFI in other countries, usa didn't get it because of cost as always. The ZX2R was kawasaki's answer to copying the honda, as yamaha did with fzr250 and suzuki with the gsxr250. All 4 cyl, high revs.

He's not trying to prove that a CBR is better than a ZXR of the same age. He's saying that the new kwaka hasn't improved on the old.

RWHP on both cbr and zxr is only 35 bhp

the 45 quoted for both is HP at the crankshaft.

There is no such thing as a zx-2r

    There is zxr250.

Then somebody did a photoshop drawing saying the zx-2r would be the new one.

then all the nubs starting repainting thier crashed zxr's and putting zx-2r graphics on them.

    as i said nubs.

i could go into more info but quite frankly i cannot be fucked.

This is a discussion that has been had a million times over.

People need to just agree to disagree and shut up.

Ahhh but the new quaka isnt even designed to be in the same league as the cbr...thats what the zxr was, the new ninja 250r runs the same base powerplant as the 1987-2006 gpx 250 and the 1992-1998 zzr 250's

he cannot say the old cbr is better than the new kawasaki.

As the new kawasaki is not meant to be a go fast sports bike.

Fact is kawsaki zxr will sit up a cbrs arse and scotty knows it because i rode with him and had to keep waiting

Kawasaki does not need to bring out anything to catch the cbr because they already did in 1989.

and in 1989 the zxr pissed on the current cbr mc19 of the time.

not until 1990 did honda go oh shit and bring out the cbr mc21 and then mc 22.

it was infact honda that had the catching up to do

Honda right now do not even have a competitor to the ninja 250r. as there are bigger fish to fry.

instead they get some el cheapo manufacturer to churn out cbr 125's or 150's or whatever they are and say there u go, honda small cc commuter.

anyways over the discussion....been through it too many times.

    USD's FTW.

    Yes i'm kinda drunk.

    Cry me a river.

    What a troll.

Hi, the 2008 Holden Vectra just doesn't seem to be as quick at the Ford GT40 from 1966. FFS. How come even after 38 years Holden can't get it right?

FFS RM. What have you been smoking?

It's pretty irrelevant if you cannot buy a cbr/zxr/fzr new. Face it, what is available new atm?

Singles: cb250, scorpio, gn or chook chasers
Twins: hyobag or the new ninja.

At this rate, it won't be long and the il4's will be 30 years old

The 250R is starting to look pretty good
