The first part has many levels to it - firstly it is a rather clever, wonderful and absurd piece of sarcastic wit that I thoroughly enjoy. Secondly and more personally it is a rather self-ironic (is that a valid term?) comment to stop trying to be clever. I even remember... some times.
The second part was just a piece of terrific ASCII art I stumbled upon which appealed to me.
