Tis a Yamahahahaha G. Just thrash it like you stole it. Gixxer 4 ever
It really did look very unloved. Specially as it was next to the R1 that the whole crowd wanted to look at. Gixxer 4 ever

    No.

If you want relaxed grunt, get something a bit different.

1000s are just too fast to be fun anywhere but on the track and out in the sticks where the Highway Patrol aren't going to bother you. And then you gotta ride the thing to the track or the sticks, and in the meantime you're stuck with it in traffic and in the rain and on the bloody motorway.

Some may disagree with me, but fuck 'em, they're wrong.

An ER6n, f'rinstance, is bucketloads of fun at 150kph, wide open throttle, huge satisfaction from getting the most out of the bike, etc. An R1 at that speed is just laughing at you because you don't have the balls to do what it's capable of, and you're going faster than the guy having fun on the ER6 but you're not grinning anywhere near as much.

1000s are, ultimately, frustrating. When riding semi-legally on them, you're thinking, fuckit, why am I even bothering with this uncomfortable Lamborghini-eating rocket, and when riding illegally on them, you're thinking, fuckit, I'm about to go to court, or maybe just die messily.

In my extremely humble opinion. Not that I have a goddamn clue what I'm on about.

Hence my GSX1400. I'm gonna keep that thing for a quarter million kilometres before I even start thinking about replacing it.

SSSSHHHH! I'm trying to make up excuses here!

To be honest, I know a 1000 is not for me as I would not be scared of using it's power and I already go too fast on my 400. But I'm not going to rest until it's out of my system basically, whether I own one for a month and sell it off or I mangle it.

I've been trying to convince myself to go for other options. I like the look of the latest model FZ1's and I've heard good things about them. I'm keen to test ride a Buell since I like the look of them. I've ridden an XR650 and they're good for getting your kicks at road legal speeds, though there's the added problem of easy wheelies. I'm also seriously considering getting a mid-late 80's CBX750 since they look cool and ultimately I can't afford anything more for the next few years. I bet everyone's thinking they're a bad choice...

Raj... Yeah, I'm happy with the 600 not in a hurry to sell it. Just thought there's no time like the present to start though

Oki doki... TM add has closed. I'm actually really unsure on whether I want to sell the bike right at this moment or in a few months... Maybe a year. I know I will up step up to more cc's at some point... Just not sure when

I don't think I'll put the TM add up for a while, but if any KB'ers are keen on it just send me a PM and we can discuss things further from there

I have recently acquired a k7 gixer thou its done barely 4000ks and theres not a single mark on it, i only have it from trying to sell my 600 and through a series of deals and cash i now have it so its for sale with a brand new set of pirelli tyres buyers choice what type.

I think it is the easiest bike i have ever ridden i dont understand why people think they are scary or dangerous..? To be honest i think riding a 20 year old beat up 250 is a lot more dangerous! Anyways if your interested in trading up maybe we could sus out a deal cause my sister would love a 600

Hey thanks, but unless you were wanting to do a straight swap... I can't afford it actually, I don't even think I can afford the insurance for a thou

Thanks for the offer... All the best with the sale

You mention the GSXR750 because you want more cruisability... Have you ridden one?
They're pretty much as gutless as the 600 untill you get to the upper half of the tacho.

Not really any point going to one if you're after a better highway cruiser. There are plenty of other better bikes out there that'll do what you're wanting.

I've been lucky enough to get to the Isle of Man twice.
    It changed my thoughts entirely!

When you hear a 'bog-stock' thou screaming towards you, outta sight, then come into view flying around a corner cranked over, then wiggle it's head as the rider twists the throttle & tries to pick it up, then it comes howling past you, revs skipping as the rear tyre breaks traction now & then, then all you're left with is the smell of the fumes, the heat, the rushed movement of air & the bike wailing off into the distance...

...only then do you realise it's all marketing with a capital M stroking people's egos.

mere mortals will never need a thou; they might want one, for whatever reason, but only pros will get the best outta them.

to illustrate how good these bikes are; at this year's TT, there were only 3 or 4 seconds difference in lap times between the production bikes & the full blown spec'd Superbikes!!! and that's over nearly 50kms of racing!!!

enjoy the 6hundy Jas - and use it for what it was designed for!
