Interesting story I heard behind Dweezels name. The nurse refused to write it as his name on the birth certificate, so Frank rambled off this huge list of (normal) names and made her write them all down. When Dweezel was told this story when he was older, he chose(sp?) to change his name to what it was intended to be.

For those who don't know where the name came from, it was Franks nicname for his wife's bigtoe.

My kids are Dante and Sebastian. Original enough for them to feel some sense of inderviduality, but easy to spell and unlikely to get them strange looks. Wanted to name Sebastian Poe, after Edgar Allen, and keep the literary theme (Dante was named after Dante Aligieri). Got totally overruled on that one though.
Could never have named a kid John or James, etc.

There was a butcher in Glasgow many years ago named Ian Mark Smellie Go figure
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I went to school with Wayne Kerr. Dealt with a local politician named Naughty Sea Monkey. There's plenty of Harleys and Bonnevilles out there, I've met a Fireblade and a bad guy on the run at the moment is James Triple M Ford

My mate John named his daughter Holly.....Day. Another mate called Chris Plant married a lady called Hazel.

What amazes me is that so many people don't ever change their names. After all the given names identify more about the parents than the children given them.

One of the more ironic aspects of the Christchurch "body in the backyard case" (the one where the woman poisoned her husband and then buried his body) was that the said victim's name was Doug Gardener...

a friend of mine has a relative who named his daughter amanda ( lynn)
which I thought was quite funny, and obviously unintentional. another badly chosen name I've heard of is Theresa Green, who my kids went to school with, and also a cousin of mine had the unfortunate initials P.I.G, he never changed his name either.
another kid my kids went to school with rejoiced in the first name Douche, which sounded very romantic unless you knew what one was! lol
