... well its got me thinking, bloody decent people that become mod's
How come their online personas change? I have knowen several people that were just the average Jo KB members.. then became a mod... they changed and not for the beter.

The latest good guy I know that became a mod has IMHO taken it to far, ok maybe I dont know the full story... but either way I find it a shame that people do change when given some kinda power... do you guys agree, or find the same thing or am I being yet again a over sencitive blood nut thats knows shit?

It's not the mystical "power" that engenders a change in online persona, it's the negative bleating, constant stream of whinging complaints, and sometimes outright nasty bullying that mods have to put up with.

Remember that the people doing this stuff to mods are often their riding buddies. Makes life awkward.

Na, thats bull shit Jim... what stirs me on once again is a Mod infracting a member and warning another for going off topic when IMHO it was all on topic, christ I started the thead, its about a national gathering and the socialinsing that goes with it.. why should it just be about the race meet... fuk it I cant wait to meet the guys headed down for it.. if this mod has a problem, then its all his problem.

actually Jim... i would have thought that it takes a complaint to get some one infractered, Im betting that no one complained about this thread and infact it was a mod throughing his own weight around (no pun intended) that decided it wasent his own opion.

If you have a problem with fellow KBers who become moderators, perhaps you should consider the possibility that the fault lies with your attitude and perception? Is that possible?

Yet again you are going to grandstand over a trivial matter, doing your utmost to ostracise and alienate.

    Chill out, D.

You are a classic case.. I once realy enjoyed your company at rallys.. but since you became a mod.. I have never seen you at any bikers event... the net took over didnt it? IMHO... you would be beter off saying fuk it as a mod and rejoining ya 'old' mates at real bikers events.

    Bingo.

It's a shame you can't see the real problem.

Ok if this thread ends up in PD, then all I can say is the mod that sends it there looses the debate by not alowing the thread to continue

I was at a party a few weeks ago and there were three current mods there.
The way I see it is, if you slag them off they will slag back.
Shouldn't really talk about them as 'they'/'them' ...The moderators of the Forum do a pretty good job, I have had their help in recent times and whatever the problem is, its acted on reasonably quickly.
Things have toned down over the last year or so, moderating was becoming a bit of a farse and the way things were being done at times, was mind blowing. If its a personal issue with any of them, talk to the Mod concerned, if that doesn't work out, talk to MT, get it sorted, adult like.
I have no issues with any Moderator, some in the past yes, but no, not even the wee one from CH-CH.

I think someone should make this fella a moderator (maybe we could set up a special forum for the delusional) just so he can experience the 20 or 30 messages a day that you're supposed to deal with.

The infraction system isn't "complaint driven". It's rule driven and they're really simple rules that you have to agree to when you join up.

Fine print syndrome tends to take over and people got, "whatever" and tick the little box agreeing to the rules and that's when the complaint process starts.

"I didn't realise the rules were that strict."

"Oh, I don't read rules and this is the Internet, there are no rules."

"You guys take this too seriously, it's just a forum."

"I don't remember agreeing to abide by any rules."

    Blah, blah, blah.

It's an endless parade of school playground excuses, except I've used the shift key occasionally and left out the 32 4 letter words usually used to communicate those feelings.

Na.. no way man, I know all about the 20+ messages mods get.. if they dont like it then pack it in, but no they dont cos they thrive on the power to be able to have the last say.

This thread was brought about by a mod thet infracted a couple of members cos he thought they wernt comming down or even involved with the thread... WRONG they are all in volved and infact comming down, even staying at my place... how wrong was the mod???

Three years ago I couldn't even spell moddaraita. And now I are one. Who'd have thunk it?
