If you have never been there then this is your chance to enjoy the superb food & surroundings in a relaxed atmosphere.
After lunch we could travel the superb coast road north into the Victorian Precinct pub "The Criterion".
Photo opportunity, then back to camp for an evening of debauchery & decadence !
So,i leave home grab a feed then return home have a couple and go be decadent.

    That's a good heads up.
I'm going down a couple of weeks later so will await your report of the state of the river with interest.

Food for the masses? Well most of us bring something for ourselves, but if there are members who want to discuss options like last year (think HOG) then it needs organising closer to the event.
I'm sure Niel (camp owner 03 4312564) could advise on equipment available etc

Just had to start at page 1 of another thread to get the phone no for camp looks like we come a long way . cant wait has anyone got the pigs tail for Helens bike

It's the Maerewhenua River, it's got a good rep for fairly sizeable but crafty browns. It's fly fishing only though so getting back into the swing of casting and mending line will be a laugh

Got a mix of patterns tied for me by this guy

I checked it out on Saturday after advising the the "Criterian" publican of our impending arrival. He actually has another biker poker run using him as a base the same day! The northern end of the coast road is not to be fixed again due to constant erosion.
We will just enter Oamaru from a slightly different suburb.

Its a great idea but it puts an onus on someone to tend to it most of the day, & I felt sorry for Shrek last year when it was not ready for the masses till about 11.30pm. Did it spoil his night?

I agree... If we are all independent it means no-one has to 'be on duty'.

I've just arrived home from a wee ride round the block (511 km - Chatto Creek, Ranfurly, Palmerston, Trotters gorge, Wainakarua Coast, Oamaru, Omarama, Lindis, Home) with a short detour into Danseys Pass to book our cabin. The young girl thought we were already booked due to having the same surname as Scumdog, but soon sorted and a cabin reserved.

There are only 2 cabins left, so if you want a cabin and haven't booked get in quick.
    Time to ride
