If you're taking a tent, then I don't believe booking is a necessity. There's plenty of space there and I don't think just rocking on up will be a problem.

affairs are normaly kept quiet, untill some one finds out then all hell breaks loose

Even quiet "affairs" get noisey... friendly "affairs" often mean tent occupant numbers to double...even triple....

I was planning on going over the Danseys Pass which should be ok provided the Duke isn't asked to complete any 180 turns.

There is only a couple of 180 turns... a couple of 270's, quite a few 90's, and then quite a few more.
Only 50 km's of gravel... 30 either uphill or downhill...

If the Custard Square can do the Danseys (Long Drop, 2006), then u can???
I wonder if the Raspberry Tart shud try it?

Now I'm ferkin worried. Lookin at getiing from Chch'ish on the friday, don't fancy MX at the end of it. How much further to go the long way round. Or is Chch to site too much in one day. Planning on being there for the sat ride.
