Id buy one this second if I had the money. WITHOUT test riding one.
Here here i never asked for a test ride i wasnt offered one i just cashed up and rode it home, if your spending 30k to 40k on a factory bike youve probably already made your decision anyway.

Good on ya Chrissie you must ahve mixed feelings about the sale.

    Cheers Scuze,

I didn't ask for a test ride when I bought it either - and despite the naysayers negativity in this thread (and others), the new buyer deposited the full purchase price in my bank account without even seeing the bike let alone taking it for a test ride.

    Mixed feelings is an understatement

It obviously was not meant to be and the good news is that it will not be taunting me in the mornings any more

Further good news is that I can now buy a new bike with a more relaxed leg position (Harley?) and get the hell back out on the road.

The bad news is that today I just found out the seat height of the new Ducati streetfighter. Regretfully, it is out of my reach physically. At 840mm it is 20mm higher than the 1098 which had to be drastically lowered and new boots made to touch the ground. That extra 20mm has totally killed that idea - BUGGA

Bugger - the Streetfighter seat height would be no good for me either. Pleased to hear you finally sold the 1098.

Yeah pretty disappointing. My bike boots are borderline 'overkill' now - but that extra height is going to knock a few people out. Each model seems to be getting higher (since the 748?) it appears?!

and yes - thanks I guess everything has a buyer, you just need to wait for them.

Thanks Doll, I felt a bit like Mr Potato Man (grain waves ad?) watching it ride off down the road. Neat guy bought it so I know he will be looked after.

Night Rod Special? Hell yeah - bring it on, kinda whole different sex on wheels if you get what I mean.... watch this space

What about a monster 696? the seat height is only 770mm.
