Kiwi bloke to compete at Bonneville Speed Week

Following in the footsteps of The World's Fastest Indian, a Naenae hot-rod lover will try for a land speed record at the famous Utah salt flats on his home-built vintage Harley-Davidson Hardtail frame, running a 1939 Indian 490cc engine.

Danny Thompson, 34, is headed to the Bonneville Salt Flats for the 60th anniversary of the "running at the salt" Speed Week races in August.

Would love to see a better picture of the bike than is on stuff.

Not knowing much about this type of thing it surprises me the lack of front braking ability.

88mph sounds like an achieveable target.
