lower k's, and they seemed to check out on carfax. so either seems to be a possible option now. will contact owner tomorrow about a deal, and what he can do for me. if anything, road trip to wanganui, and the little i manage to cut off it's price, goes into fuel cost! hehe. (but this one has a dent in tank.. will just see. am happy with the nelson one anyway).
i'm wondering, now, how was it less to transport up from cch?will see what the other quotes come up to. have contacted :

yeaa i agree wit ehab zimmy..nice looking vtr..sad how they din have the twin dashboard from the start but nonetheless it looks sweet...wanganui aint that far i think..its abt 3 hours...hope im thinkin of the right place..
For those of you whose use the fast lane on motorways and only do a 100km/hr, can you pls use the middle lane, some of us like to ride at 105km/hr thank you very much.
That looks like another alternative and it can be a nice SMC road trip. Think you might be able to get it for 200-300 less. Dent in the tank probably 150 bucks to get it repaired and painted. Pretty much the got the maintenance needed and even the forks done (at 13000km -ok). I like the mirrors on the silver one better than the black. Black one looks to have an aftermarket full system and better tires fitted.
Yes the transport prices have increased dramatically in the last 2 years because of the crazy oil prices. Prices I think have gone up by 50% now.
Don't just live to ride but ride to live.
kim has a good point though on the black one..better tires and full exhaust system..looking farkin flashy..shingo might have some competition now.....bt yeaa man get a bike already..my eyes hurt from reading all this pages..
...btw..hows 205 studying goin..is it non existant like mine..

Yeah mate get someone local to have a look at the bike first. Stevo might know some people that can do this. If its a good buy then perhaps buy a $155 ticket (for someone or yourself) from Auckland to Whanganui then ride the bike back another $60 bucks should cover petrol ($30 for food) all the way back to Auckland based on Bomma's 30km per litre (doubt it though)...(perks along the way extra and priceless)
or you could do a road trip down.....get Frosty's van or anyone's and on the way back stop at Taupo race track to thrash the bike and ride it to its potential (cost of running a van perhaps $250 -300 to and fro plus you might be able to stop at vineyards to buy special wine as a treat)....
Great idea?![]()
Don't just live to ride but ride to live.
VTR250 FTW!They're absolute cracker bikes - reliable, efficient, stylish, easy to ride with Honda build quality to boot (And none of them are too old, like IL4 250s...
)
30km/L is optimistic.
Our one has worse economy on the open road due to overcoming wind resistance and running at high revs. But then, I'm well over 90kg, and I ride it pretty hard...
Bank on 21-25km/L depending on who is riding it and how hard they rape it.
Don't fret not having a rev counter - it isn't too much of an issue once you get to know the bike (Besides, what's a rev limiter for anyhoo??)
They both look pretty sweet. I wouldn't panic about tank dents - tidy that sort of thing up BEFORE you sell to move up.
i recently got into biking and got me a gpx. good bike decent power and goood on gas.(as long as you not rapin it) you should definately ride a vtr at a dealer before u buy one or even think about buyin it. good luck wit ur first bike man
