Naha!!! maybe so, but i have good news! the overdrafting went through. and so, will be putting 1000 deposit on bike on monday (would've gone today, but the dude was sstuck somewhere in newmarket)... so technically, it means i've gotten a toe in the door, and am that much closer to "actually" buying the bike! haha.

woohoo!!! a nice pretty lil red honda vtr!! can't hardly wait.. to give it to kyle and kim ... but my own bike..

just found it, and said "hold on while i wait for a goverment agency to give me back my money so i can pay a deposit on this"
haha, i'd bling u for that, just becoz it made me laugh (and it's true)... but i don't know how to. i think the amount the govt owes me is the difference i need to be able to afford the bike. between 2 and 2.5 imagine that. can't believe our very own government lets us students suffer like this and have to scrounge around for every penny while waiting for them to cough up some of the tax we pay when we do work! it's pretty lame, me thinks! (but this is a good way to force a saving!! i think i'd be worse off had they been paying me from earlier on... may not have had such a good thing to fall back onto!) kinda worked out really!

Good choice - awesome wee bikes!

I have a PDF service manual BTW if you need it...

    Happy riding
hey ross, may be askng you for that pdf of the service manual very soon. also, how did u install the digital tacho onto your bike, and what'd it cost you to do it? another thing, some bikes had the gear displayer. i'm guessing that's personal addition, and so, how' that done? how expensive? and yes, though it may no be fully necessary, it's alway good to have in case. as a good way to keep track - ya, i know that u'd prob get use to it without in no time 9looked appealing, in a tiny way)...haha, but all that, for another thread - once i've paid off the bike!!!

^^ I actually bludged the digital tacho off my bro-in-law, so I have no idea what they cost (He got it free with some vespa parts he ordered from the UK) You'll be fine without - what's a rev limiter for anyhoo??

I'll chuck the manual on a CD for ya and bring it along to the next chiller. It's an OK service manual, but I struggled to find some basic info in it as the layout isn't the best. Still, it was a free download, so can't complain.

You dont need a rev counter just train yourself to hear the noise......for me I can pretty much tell what rpm I am running by hearing how noisy it is but it comes after you have ridden bikes for a while

you have a 90 degree v twin now, you'll know your in the sweet spot when the bike stops shuddering and hits a nice revving, vibe free, power band. You wont need much more than third gear max around town, i use second , mind you mines a vibrating narrow angle smoky bandit of a bike.

i cruise in 5th round town on my vtr, then i drop it down to fourth for any hills i hit. If you cruise in any lower gear you would use more gas for no real reason.

The sweet spot on the vtr's is around 8,000rpm, so if you really want to get moving ring the crap out of it for best results.

Is it red with a black frame like my vtr, or is it red with a silver frame?

the vtr doesn't vibe anywhere near as much as the srv, would happily cruise in 5th at 55kph provide you don't wanna accelerate too hard, and is very "stable" feeling bike. very well planted on the road and doesn't feel like she's gonna slip thanks to good chassis/suspension and decent sized tyres

    reliable motor, brakes are great....

of course being a honda you could've assumed all that anyway
