    New intersection ads

I thought they were silly enough with their new carny luck approach to whether you die or not, but I've just seen their latest variant to the ad. The person that does die in the original ad doesn't since the wheel just hits 'near miss' and they continue on their way. But then a passing speed cop starts to pursuit them. I thought it was a laugh.

Do speed cops really do that? I've never heard of them going after people doing stupid, dangerous manoeuvres. Hell, I've had them tail gate me too often.

If it's dangerous enough I assume they'd give chase...

But what I'd like to see is one of those intersection adds where a cage cuts off a bike/scooter.... with the amount of people converting to 2 wheels it would make sense!

Did the cop pull a u-turn in the middle of the intersection to chase the car down?

I resent the implication that luck has anything to do with an accident at an intersection.

I can think of about 231 reasons that aren't luck and all to to do with the character of the average Kiwi when behind the wheel.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

exactly, i'm no possum bourne but I manage to maneuvere a 24 year old custom built - multi purpose firetruck with tractor tyres on it through interesections, sometimes redlights without accident (touch wood.....better make it mahogany!) and I have to say its not always the person who pulls out whos at fault, i'm sick of seeing arsehole kiwis (yes i'm a kiwi) speeding up in the direction of cars trying to cross an interesection......I didn't see that once in the states and don't even think our traffic is nearly as busy as san francisco , L.A or Las Vegas........us kiwis (namely kiwi males) really need to think of other drivers a lot more rather than the whole "not my fault legally" bullshit.

Sometimes cars not closing up causes the problem.

Sometimes I sit for ages waiting to get out onto hobsonville Road, not because theres lots of traffic, but because they all space themselves out heaps - but still not enough to get out without flooring it and drifting

I personally like the ads.. tho i havent seen the new one.

The wheel spinna (carney man) looks pretty evil... i wouldnt wanna cross him.

And i dont think that its just males that need to think of other road users. Ive seen plenty of woman drivers driving in the middle of the road doing 85km and then when the get to the passing lanes they speed up to 110km. Maybe the cops need to be focusing on the traffic holder-uppers as much as they do to the speeders.

Speed kills......... so does road rage!!

Its that "silly" 2 second rule ehh. We have that problem down here too. Sometimes we have to wait 2-3 WHOLE minutes. Bugger ehh.

There's big signs on the A9 in Scotland:

Frustration causes accident. Let faster moving traffic overtake.

Although, we could do with a slightly more realistic speed limit, so that you can overtake more safely.
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

But there is still a certain amount of 'odds' that one of them will do it when you are riding past.
