What pisses me off is the fuel we get is crap!
Bad enough we're paying extra in taxes!

In the past month I have noticed I'm getting approx 40km's less per tank full & paying more. The fuel companies are playing with the mixes cause I'm not the only one noticing

apparently if you fuel up when its cold there's less vapourisation (of course) so you actually get more fuel when you fill up, (the 'literage' tests are done on the pumps when its cold-sneaky buggers, and yes the vapours do make up the litres)
also if you fill your tank (more important in a cage) always before half, its better as when you fill up there's less "splash" hence vapourisation, and vapours escape and you end up with less fuel than you paid for.....

you reckon ? Go to Vanuatu and there is a thin coating of diesel soot on everything. Downtown Port Vila just reeks of diesel soot and you can see it hanging in the air. Something is seriously wrong with their diesel - even modern 2006 Toyota Hiluxes were running funny.

Of course, it might be something to do with them driving the flamin' wheels off everything. I didn't see the big hole in the ground where they push all their buggered cars, but it must be a big 'un. Coaches were red-flamin' hot whenever they pulled up anywhere.

BTW, Vanuatu would be a baaaaadaaaaasssss place to take a beeeeg dirtbike - people would run screaming from it, and you would silence a whole village by riding near it. It would sound like the apocalypse to them! Hilarious! No rules, no cops, no fences, no cars, just go !! Cough, its left-hand drive though.

    "Wow, Great advise there DB."

Haha, Nadi in Fiji is similar. We hired a scooter to ride down to the Coral Coast. You had to be careful riding back into town as there was a hole in the bridge and you could the water underneth. Hole was big enough the drop a scooter into.

Wondered where all the old trucks and Bedford buses go to die? You'll find them on the road in Fiji. Brings back memories of driving the old school buses...

Price of fuel over there as of last week - $2.20 for 91. Diesel is cheaper, very similar to NZ prices but they dont have RUCs.

Meh. That will save me the princely sum of $1.30 on the bike and $2 on the car, assuming both were flat empty. Not worth the bother, I'll just drive/ride 30kms less. Or eat one less cheeseburger

Besides, it's not like it's going to get cheaper in the long run. Why fight it? Rather apply your mental machinery to figuring out how to live with less of the stuff.

This will do a wonderful job for reducing traffic congestion in the cities.

Ever cloud has a silver lining.
