It could have been something you ate up to 10 days before Dave. Get to a doctor and submit a poo sample if you want a better idea of what the exact cause was.

I think my dirty old twin got a higher top speed than your R1 at the first Featherston sprints...

The straights is all I have to brag about at the moment matey And thats nothing new about top speed. If I wanted the fastest bike possible, I'd buy a Turbo Busa, and loose 35 kgs...............

Ok SC this is how it goes -a rad is made up of 2 tanks held apart by a series of vertical flattened tubes. between these tubes are a bunch of zig zag fins that help to cool things down.
The radiator repair guys are going to either A -attempt to weld up the damaged tube--unlikely
or B replace the core -more likely
Either way you cannot possibly damage the rad by using knead it or quickmetal.
what ya do is -identify where the core is leaking-as in which tube or tubes is cracked/damaged.
clear away the cooling fins so you can get to the damage.
then clean up the area around the hole as best as ya can.
mix up some knead it or quickmetal --Celtics got some
Squeaze it around the hole-or holes.
let it set a few HOURS then refill the rad --water will be fine because youre gonna drain it again very soon anyways -a couple of days aint gonna cause problems
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

    The Radiator, conclusion

Went to Sawyers today, turns out a new radiator is pretty cheap so I just ordered one and they are gonna fit it while they do the 10K service. They said they send it out anyway, and the radiator guy for bikes often recommends complete replacement with apocolyptic stone damage like I had (haha, err?). Mine was quite chipped and dented, and with the rad. guard on now, will last a loooong time.

Besides, they said when "fixed", it looks yucky hahahahahahah

Nah. He should swap it for a real bike, like maybe an FZR750R...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Don't you DARE swap it for a cruiser mate! (In case that's what you're plotting.)

Btw - is it costing as much as you thought to get the radiator sorted?

    New Radiator

Not too bad, $380, plus labour, plus my 10K service.
