FYI VTWIN: the mesh I have used was from Repco. I recall someone told me that Ulrich in Petone also had it, and would probably be cheaper than Repco. I have also seen stainless steel square mesh used on a Ducati, would be better than the alloy stuff if you can get it.
    pretentious moi?

    Cheers et al
Repco would be expensive.....I used to be a salesman at Ullrich, but that was a couple of years ago....trying to remember grades/thickness of the expanded mesh.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

Both of them managed to stagger more miles than most plastic fantastics and are repairable.

Both incidents you mention in a sad attempt to divert the argument and are down to a hamfisted mechanic (me) and lead fisted rider rather than technology.

Indeed... Lets look in Jims shed? CBR?

Not even a nice rolling chassis???

Your turn... (and Mr Hitcher I appeal for a line call on his last post, he was diverting the argument)

Hah! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've seen your thumb remember. Uglier than Darth Vader's exposed brain.

Hah! Well while your attention was diverted the magnificent F5Dave used his superior mechanical skills to get the CBR running. We just had to basically prime the fuel pump by bypassing the fuel relay. Once the pump was primed the relay let the CDI know that there was fuel again and the bike runs a treat.

Put new plugs in too. Next step if to sort the clutch, get a new battery, and a new rear tyre, then off to the testing station for a new rego plate, WOF and a years rego.

It is a running bike again. So bloody there.

Big thanks to F5Dave again. Ain't this community grand?

    Nice few pics there, B.

Question. Who's the gay cunt in the blue one piece with the Yump on his back? Or the other two homos standing there with matching jackets? Glad I didn't come, the one on the matching bike to mine may have tried to lure me into some seedy public toilets with promises of rough man sex.....

    My Story, by StoneChucker

A long, long time ago, in a shitty 3rd world country, was born a hapless and doomed individual. No matter how this poor boy would try, he got repeatedly kicked in the nuts.

Well, I was riding right behind CelticNo6 (I think), and I felt a dull pain dispearse through my ankle. Hmm I thought, thats a bigass rock that just hit me. Next thing, I hear a loud crack/thud and my first thought was oh crap, there goes one side of an incredibly expenisve fairing Stopped to check the fairing, to find my boots, fairing of bike, tyres and an increasing portion of the road covered in green R1 blood. While I reached for my Navy Seal issue suicide capsule, Hugh kindly offered my some chewing gum to chew, and stick on the hole to make it back to the Flying Fish. Rode back at a legal speed, happy to find the temp. was stable at the normal operating temp.

VTWIN very very kindly (while reminding me that I cut his ride short) rode home, drove back with the trailor and carted me and my bleeding stallion back home, where it now lies, awaiting the next business day.

Now, to make matters even bloody worse, I at some stage during the day contracted food poisoning, which left me up ALL night, appeasing the toilet monster with various offereings, mostly the famous kerbside quiche
I still feel sick, hope I can get a decent nights sleep tonight!

Now, I better figure out what I'm doing wrong, cos this trail of shit that follows me is starting to get a little old...
Back to work next week, and no riding for the rest of the hols either , cos heaven forbid I get a, whats it called, those things you get when, err, um, OH, a Loan Bike
