Do we have to hurry up and get KB registered or something?

As for Governments ever heard praises for one? Usually its about voting out the last lot, so new crew comes in, its all sweet and roses for a couple of days and lo and behold we don't like these ones either, so depending on how much they piss us off dictates how many terms we let them have.

Its never a positive experience because they don't pay us instead of taking taxes and that don't let us do what we like on the roads while making sure the other dumb bastards don't etc etc.
    Cheers

Youve got that right in one. Frankensteins sister made an appearance at New Plymouth Boys High School yesterday so she could spread her poison further. Apparently she was asked a question about access to NZ for nuclear powered vessels to which she allegedly included in her reply ''over my dead body''
Might I suggest that would be a price worth paying....

Things could always be better. But worse too. The NZ taxrate is actually not bad when compared to some of the European countries of similar size. The ones over 50% are Sweden, Slovenia, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium and Austria. Their GST (or VAT) tax are around 20% with Sweden at top with 25%.

And the reality is that apart from places like Dubai and Monaco that does not need tax money to do stuff, all other countries do. Today we are also more civilised (???) and care about our population who can not cater for them selves. We are proud of that nobody has to die as a result of no housing, healtcare or food. Sadly this is not the case in many of todays countries.

Do you realise, that if you have a few coins in a jar or in your pocket, you are actually one of the top 5% financially in the world... But we always want more. One TV is not enough. And we really need that 42inch plasmascreen. And we should not have to be without a roast every w/e. It is our right!!
I think it is our right that shopkeepers and elderly people in their homes should be safe from murderous thugs / drop kicks.

One thing I wish Nz would capitalise on is the local pride... Why we haven't all flocked to support Kiwibank yet i don't know. We bank with too many foreign banks and the money we make earns interest in other countries... Perhaps Kiwifarm, Kiwifuel etc... would be the way forwards... We produce locally, tax locally and watch profit end up elsewhere and then wonder why we can't sustain ourselves???

The parallells are very very close and Gordon Brown will doubtless ( and deservedly ) be comprehensively dumped. Their economy is rapidly becoming a basket case.

I came ehre from the UK nearly 2 years ago and i'm starting to see laws appearing here that where in the UK 4 - 5 years ago... It's easier to follow the crowd, you can blame it on someone elses policy flaws then... and i'm stunned that the population hasn't done anything about it, because most of the laws are ill conceived and only put into place as a band aid "At least we addressed the issue in some form"... PATHETIC...

It was an insane place to live... a 1st, 2nd and 3rd world country all rolled into one, just start from the bottom and every 3rd of the country demote the level of civilisation... Bizarre, but pretty much true from what i could see... In London I would have earned about 130000 dollars, in Scotland, same job, i earned 80000 dollars.. pff go figure

Perhaps they hired the same people who "recounted" for the R. Mugabe party?

Well, I was in NZ for 7 of their years in power, and I've fucked off to Aussie. Earn more, get taxed less, and don't have to put up with a small minority of the population whinging about shit that happened well before living memory.

Hey some of us on here have seen a lot of changes over our time as both parties have come and gone....in my time I've seen the wage/price freeze of the early seventies acompanied by the a govt run petrol shortage and carless days....even higher tax rates than today (try paying 60cent in the dollar only because you work permanent shifts) then the mass redundcies and the Farce of SOE's..... I could go on Im happy working up to 60 hours a week but only being paid for 40(yup work for the bloody govement again)

Life has taught me " its hard to find the perfect government mate"

Two politicians of the last 40 years. stand head shoulders above the rest.
Rob Muldoon & Helengrad , both were/are the consumate politician , unfortunately both were/are the most destructive politicians of our time
Rob with think big & an everexpanding protectionist government sent this country broke
We flogged the family silver to get out of the mire , I didn't like it but it had to be done & would still say that the way the asset sales were handled in an apalling fashion ,incompetence springs to mind
We went through some bloody hard years [ who remembers 22% interest mortgages ] Finally because of some pretty unpalatable medicine things came good
Helen learned nothing , she has set about rebuilding the public sector. 43 % of GDP is now govt spending. The public service has grown dramatically & yet treasury reports note that there has been no improvement in service
Helen has not grown the business of NZ inc , she has grown its overheads, & thus reduced our productivity & competitivness compared to other nations
[ we are lower on the OECD than when she took over ]

We did the hard yards in the expectation of a pay off, when the pay off came joe average saw none of it. This lot have squandered the pay off on grandiose empire building like rail & I for one feel betrayed

The Breakfast programme was interesting this morning.
Heilen Klerke stated "we are happy with the NZ armed forces" and then stated that they are using old, decrepit equipment (and basically have been neutered).

    Thanks labour.
