Moon Boots - A gift from God?!

I broke my foot at Ruapuna on sat whilst trying to race. I went to Chch hospital and they put a half cast on my foot/ leg and sent me home drugged up. All was good until Monday when my foot swelled so much while on the ferry that I had to go straight to Hutt hospital and get a new one. Unfortunately these casts were none weight bearing and I had to use crutches to take my weight but that was really hurting my, what I thought were pulled muscles in my chest. I stopped using crutches and just walked on my cast which caused me a great dseal of pain and the damn thing fell apart. So of I toddle to the hospital again today to get it sorted.....

Turns out my "pulled muscle" was a cracked rib and the docs agreed that I couldnt really use crutches, unfortunately they also discovered another broken bone in my foot so they wouldnt leave me 'castless'. Also means that I wont be riding/ racing for awhile yet BUT.... they decided that I could prob try and weight bear a bit and gave me a moon boot. I dont need to use 2 crutches and now at least I can take it off and shower like a normal person. I can also take it off while I sleep, woot!

So while I got some baddish news, my day just got a whole lot better. Life will be easier for the next few weeks!!

I found (and still find) that if they're not cutting it simply add Steinlager.

heal up quick eh lady! enjoy the fuzzy pain killers while they last!
I've learnt to hide the pain inside, open the throttle and ride away.

So is drinking with the painkillers giving you a real lift - and with a moon boot sounds like you're in space?
    Cheers

That goodness for small mercies eh Hels? Its funny what simple things you are thankful for when you loose the ability to do them. Reckon I could just about beat you in a foot race now too

I'd come and visit ya Hels, but am a little vehicularly challenged at the mo.
