To clairfy a little on my suggestions:
Suggestions made with the view of building on the professional nature of the RRSpectacular. If such an event ends up being just another club day with all and sundry catered for, then the opportunity to grow the sport a bit further will be lost.
Classes: My gut feeling is to try to build the bestest roadracing event in NZ at this time (summer) at that track (T1 is great for racing and possible access to huge crowds). Only a few classes can really be catered for on the main race day if a true happening is what people want. If they just want another club day then so be it. But really have a good think about that. There are the two previous days for that.
Streetstock: If the mainlanders can be enticed to come up en-masse then there would be a great spectacle of 40 or more Streetstock bikes for the 'littlies'. Oyster, what say you?? (and their 125ers as well of course)
250GP: while of course I am biased, Ivan, check the lap times. The 250's we have in NZ are now only just competitive with the good 650's/450's and not at all with the good 600's. The new bikes are just too fast against 10-15 yr old 250's. But it makes a great spectacle. And dude, please learn to write a coherent sentence!!
Teams: Mrs Kendog suggests he/she/it (LOL) is broke and can't afford to change the tyre. Well, sorry about that, but endurance racing is RACING for 3-4 hours and that will neccesitate changing at least a rear tyre or you will crash. The idea is that it is a race, not a 3-4 hr trackday. So, the idea then is to find a group of like minded mates and to form a team where you all pitch in with money and expertise. Y'know, in good old number 8 wire NZ we don't have to do it all on our own all the time ay? Maybe many of the riders who race on days 1 and 2 can be team members for day 3????
I spent some time with the Phase 0ne Yamaha team in the UK and these guys are all volunteers but spend 8hrs almost every weekend each during the racing season at the team base making sure everything is right. Just so 2-3 riders can go and crash the bike.... hopefully not.
Scrivy, you suggest that you don't do it to make money. While this is laudable, I suggest that if you shifted your focus a little more towards making a few bucks then you might be able to justify more time and strive to grow the event beyond the great event it already is. It just changes your mindset, is all. As I say, I am keen to join the team if you need extras.
3-day event, might make it worth while for retailers and wholesalers to set up display tents, have entertainments for the crowd and kids, etc etc etc.
So there yiz all are again. Why not take a few minutes to really think about this as an opportunity to build a real event, not just another race day. (If that is what is wanted by people of course). I for one would be hugely disappointed if the opportunity were passed over.
Cheers all and see yiz at Manfeild.

What utter bollocks Ivan
Piston is good for 500km, how many ks are you going to do in a 1 hour 50min endurance race? Certainly not 500km... maybe 250km if you are lucky??
How often have you even done a complete engine strip down each race? I thought your approach was to do remedial maintenance after each engine blow up??![]()

Christ Steve, how fat and slow have you got these days?
I would be surpirsed to see you on your 10 year old JHA rocketship be beaten by a 15 year old 450 by a similar rider?1
Dodgy dude.
Sad but true it seems, with me on it that is. I have been to the Dartford school of weight control and fitness conditioning. Works a treat, if your aim is resemble a beached whale!
Oh, and JHA stuff has all but disappeared due to needing cash cash cash. Standard engine goes just as well for much less cost.
But with Glen Sketchy on the bike, well that is another fine kettle of fish altogether.
But Ivan makes a fair point. Have the 250's in an F3 race for individual points and prize. Then Glen might win something!! Yaayyy.
I really hope this event happens.

Is it still beastiality if ya fuck a frozen chicken??
yeah im keen
Excellent scrivy! One question...will I be able to get a day licence for the whole event or do I have to have an MNZ licence?
Bog standard 750? - hell yes - go hard boys!
Tyres???? I wouldn't know?!! I use 10 inch rear slicks!!!! Best you ask the hard chargers - like um....... White Trash!!
Dollies? At this stage I'd bring my own. But if ya have any spare...... (did I say there was a free entry in it........?)
The endurance race day is being run under a separate permit, so a day licence would be required for the Road race spectacular meeting, and another for the endurance day.
I'm starting to bar up about this now - is that normal????![]()

Nah, Jamie McNair's the guy you need to talk to. He's a fucken legend that boy.
Just got off the phone with my good mate Carl Fogarty, he's keen. Seeing as between the two of us none of these other cunts stand a chance, all prize money can be deposited straight into my bank account if ya like Scrivy.
Carl was also wondering if Mr Slight would be prepared to make a comeback as, other than myself, he regards Aaron as his toughest Kiwi competitor. I said I'd ask.
