Sounds like the idea also sidecar bob, I thought this would be an oppourtunity for those who don't/can't ride as fast as 'racers' to be able to participate in some kind of race where speed is not the major factor.
Anyway, out to the pits and on my bucket I guess I will stay.
Makes me sound a bit of a cunt I know, but there is a class where the emphasis is on fun. It's called Clubmans.

I like the sound of an "A" and "B" class more though. It means anybody's going to have a crack at it.
Vote David Bain for MNZ president

Transponders would be a must, can't expect some poor bugger to sit and count laps for that long.
Any chance of making it a national title? That'd attract some of those oldies you keep harping on about
I'm not going to propose anything at this stage. I want feedback from YOU guys and gals that are going to be racing in it!!
    Democracy at its best!!
We have a timing man that can do the job well.
Trashie - I've told you before - us oldies don't do it for trophies!! We do it to kick your young butts!!!!

Billy, as you might know, I charge the lowest fees for a two day meeting now, with trophies, beer, BBQ, spot prizes etc. (I envisage somewhere between $150-$200 per team - I hope ). I calculate in the gate taking subsidizing the racers entry fees. I have made loses in our meeting before, but I don't do it to make money. I do it so my fellow race enthusiasts can have an enjoyable time with fellow racers at an affordable cost.

Bait for it.......and do we have to have them fuggin motard thingies in our class ?
Track 2 gets my vote but no doubt the bigger track will suit the faster bikes and it'll perhaps mean more bikes can circulate at any given time?
I see it being different race lengths, different prices.
I seriously don't think the majority will want Motards.
Maybe track 1 for the big boys (bike size that is....), and track 2 for the smaller classes?

Bring a mate to help out if you can, these events are run by a very few overworked volunteers & any extra hands are always welcomed.
You're right on the money Bob!! Also, it would look great to have more people there too.

It would be great training for the boys to think about how to approach a longer race and work out tactics and stuff.
A 10-12 lap Streetstock race first thing in the morning to get everything underway, then a 30 minute race for Post Classics, then a 45 minute race (ie proper GP length!!) for 125GP and one for F3 (allow 250GP bikes into the F3 race, would make for a really great race). Need to calc the time.
Then a 3 or 4 hr Superbike/Supersport race, two or three rider teams, no single riders as it makes it more interesting that way and teaches people more about teamwork.
Have a full grid set up, presentation, all that sort of thing prior to the start of the main race. Maybe a Le Mans start, but that is not really necessary, but is a bit different and traditional for Endurance races. Main feature MUST be longer than 2 hrs. Rider changes mandatory so that each rider must ride twice unless one gets injured during the race.
At least one rear tyre change mandatory for safety reasons.
Refuelling must be done in a designated area, so teams need to organise this properly, as we don't really have the right set ups for safe refuelling along pitlane. Rider changes can be used as refuelling stops. Maybe best at far end of pitlane so riders and teams can access that area by walking down behind the garages not along pitlane.
Allow the use of safety car to keep race going while picking up downed riders.
Maybe practice the use of this at a slow pace on one of the previous days.

Let me know if you want another body onboard with the business.

    Cheers

    Steve B
All good ideas Steve. Le Mans sounds interesting.

Maybe a road bike, no tyre swap class, & a full on class for the heroes, Run in completely seperate races of course.

Well, with the interest already shown, I'm going ahead with it at this stage. MNZ should have no reason to turn down the permit request.
I hope you interested riders continue to give me ideas on the format. I will collate your ideas, and re post ideas for the masses to comment on. Please PM me your thoughts.

Its nto about being anil. WHen the cranks over due they let go no warning I doubt you would seriously get 1 hour 50 minutes on a 125 maybe 40 mins for them like moto gp style races. A the bikes arnt designed for those sort of runs they are designed quick burst races and then complete engine strip down and us pleabs that have been honered to ride one usally do a few races before doing a top end minimum.

but 1 hour 50 youd stuff it.

40 minutes would be sweet on them tho.

    And also I am keen

I would say no to allowing 250s into F3 I mean yip share the track ok but not the same class.

as a 250 GP bike is as fast as a 600 itl dominate the F3 field and that aint fair

I'm in like flin if ya go ahead Scriv.

Dunno what kinda length is being floated most, 3 hours would mean that if F2 and F1 were together they'd both have to change a set of tyres, making it more fair than a two hour, since I think the Ducati could do the whole thing without it.

It would perhaps limit entries on cost though. What do others think???

I was given a name to use also, but White Trash would have complained if I'd used it....... so I won't mention it........
