Effects of adjustable rear shock linkage on CBR900R

My Fireblade has an adjustable tie rod in the lower linkage for the rear shock.
The geometry suggests that shortening it will increase the rear ride height, and vice versa if I lengthen it.

Is is currently 113mm between centers. The stock item is 115mm.

I like the way the bike is currently set up. It feels very stable and planted in the corners, but it is still easy to pick and change lines.
The rear end just feels harsh over abrupt bumps and ripples so I am about to fit an Ohlins shock which has adjustment for ride height.

Apart from the obvious of changing the ride height, what effect, if any, will changing the tie rod length have on the performance of the shock?

Within that range its not going to make any significant impact on shock performance. The Ohlins shock itelf has a minimum length of 303mm with an adjustment range up to 315mm.
