New 4 brush full time magnetic Starter motor winging it's way form the US of A, so as soon as it's here it'll be install and ride, tank and side covers almost repainted and then it's off to the paint doctors for some petrol protective coatings that work.
Clutch only other thing that I'm still a bit iffy about, cmoore you ever had to source one for your old girls?

test rode my new painted bike yesterday, went better than last time (carbs out, clean pilots etc)
altho still copping a fuel starvation issue..thought it was low float heights initially, but they were in spec
might take it for a burn with a rag for a fuel cap or similar..see if its a breather issue

Ya, starter has arrived from the States, been just 2 weeks since I ordered it and hey presto, right one an all, I think.Ha have to take her out to the shed and introduce it to the coal burner.
Sparky is all I require now to get her mobile, paint fixed in next two weeks, properly this time me and my good mate have the good oil on how to petrol proof it, so we are going to do it.
    3rd time lucky aye.

Well the official attendance at the BFTP HD meet. an official offshoot of the 5 year anniversary ride totaled approx ten bikes and their respective riders. Not a bad turn out for an outfit that boasts a membership of over 80.
Bunch a bloody slackers, Own bike still not road going butt I still managed to attend and on a proper period bike, thank you my darling wife for the borrow of your Nonda.
First time on a bike for a couple of months, hate the coal burner not being operational, not long to go now.
There will be pics to confirm numbers and of course the sad fact that all of the machines ridden for the entire days event were all made by the Krauts, So you ugly buggers, I don't want to hear excuses, when I propose a ride in the not too distant future, wanna get as many of us back together as we can, so keep it in mind folks.
Good to see you out on the track Volty, enjoying the day, well done mate.

At precisely 7.30pm this evening the coal burner ROARED back into life, her internal starting mechanisms are all in the proper places and she starts like a thoroughbred now.
No coughing or spluttering and more importantly, no horrible clunking and metal on metal grinding noise form the nether regions.
Talk about a quick and painless starting operation now.
So, for n ow we're back up and mobile, paint nearly completed for the third time and this time it all goes back to "the" workshop where my good friend and I shall administer the proper (once and for all) and fully functioning paint protection system.
Then it's up , up and away.
So look out for me quietly motoring past won't you.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
