Yeah it makes enough of a racket now. Baffle was totally choked in, plus there has been a lot of previous "welding" been done and I suspect the heat from that has distorted the cylinder shape and locked in the baffle.
Glad psyguy's pretty handy with a hacksaw, after making the rear rack for the BMW this week, I was totally over hacksawing.

Jase: Dammit, it clashes with the Faglan With A Twist run, otherwise I would really want a go, a go on John's chair that is Was supposed to have a go last year but was still coming back from my SI trip. Awwwww

    have the exhaust all sorted:

then rear bracket removed, bent a few times for a perfect fit, cut, grinded, welded, grinded again...

no injuries, not even a swear word

    next phase: procoat
Sounds like he did a good job for you. Hope you are sorting him out with the equivalent time in professional services. I know he could use them

Yeah Croc, professional services, a sofa and soothing stereo music (maybe even surround sound with all those donated radios) to soothe that troubled soul!!

Dodgy,I had to be brutal with mine to get the baffle assy out. After cutting the cylinder from the cone, you have to undo a small cap screw under the slash cut area and then drive the baffle out through the slash opening. The cylinder is slightly oval, so it takes a bit of force. Before re-assembly, I drilled a 6 mm hole in the underside of the cylinder up near the cone, so I could plug weld it to the baffle after re-alignment and welding the cylinder back onto the cone. It's a bit noisier now, but not toooo much.

The parts bloke at the Ducati shop told me the GN 250 starter motor is the same as the 900ss....but I think his comment was aimed at Ducati owners not GN 250 ones...
I don't know about GN250's but have you googled to see if other ones from the Suzuki range fit...?
Is the starter clutch a non return bearing sprag clutch?
